A real gem

This place is amazing. We had started to lose hope that campgrounds like this still exist, but apparently they do.

It’s gorgeous. It’s clean. It’s peaceful. It’s free! What else could you possibly want.

There are a lot of gators in the river, so swimming is a no go however.

There is no…

FREE and stunningly perfect

Absolutely love this place. Super easy to find, you just go down a red clay road. There’s plenty of sites up close to the pond, fire pits everywhere, picnic tables, clean garbages. The trooper came by in the morning and cleaned the bathrooms and changed the garbages. Overall this place is so clean…

Good tent camping

Free. Found a good spot with a view of the water. Watched the alligators and birds on the water. Was able to easily launch a canoe as there is a boat ramp. Vault toilets were available. Picnic table, fire ring, and grill at each campsite.

A-Okay RV...

I booked a short 3 day lay over here on the first leg of my coast to coast journey out of Florida. I stayed 6 weeks. Dolthan is a nice town. Everything you need with some local flavor mixed in. Half dozen trail heads in the area. I hiked 3 well kept paths. Forever Wild is mostly a cross country…

Breathtakingly Beautiful

Wow. This park is phenomenal! It is so beautiful. The canyons are breathtaking and the staff is so helpful and friendly!

Pets are welcomed and many people had theirs. So if your pet doesn’t like crowds or other pets it would be best to leave them home. Also it’s a decent walk very steep and at…

HIDDEN GEM

This campground was so accommodating!! The owners were extremely friendly and laid back. They up keep the property to be very nice and clean. The bathrooms are so nice and they even have little games to play around the campground for families and friends to pass the time like ring toss and horse…

Great Campground

Very chill, quaint campground. Has a cute bath and laundry house. Best part was the owners though, they are super sweet and accommodating! We would definitely come again.

Camping was great

We stayed at the Pioneer 1 campsite. The entrance is about a half mile down a winding curvy road from the main entrance and comes out of nowhere. This is a message to anyone considering renting from Pioneer Site 1 or 2: the road is not paved and meant for a vehicle with 4 wheel drive. If you have…

Good overall - easy to moderate hike

Overall, there was some good views and inside the canyons was pretty cool. We hiked in on Friday and stayed at campsite 4. You hike down from the visitor center and turn right at the creek bed and hike along that. It will be muddy and about an inch of water in some places, so were some waterproof…

Wow!!!!

It is very close to Florence Marina State Park where we camped. We got up early and dodged the rain to hike down into the canyon and around the rim. Some very nice colors. It was well worth the visit.

Primitive campsite was great

We did the primitive site for an overnight hike in. We loved it! Definitely need your map to get through the lower canyon area. When they say follow the creek, they mean walk In it until you find the path. Don’t venture out at night, came across some angry hogs!

Breathtaking

This made made wonder is truly a sight to see! The pictures do not do it justice. I would highly recommend hiking here and spending the day. The trail down to the canyon is sloped and once down there it can be wet. Go early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds. Climbing back up the…

It’s an erosion site, but still pretty

Providence Canyon SP is Georgia’s “Little Grand Canyon”. It’s basically a huge erosion site, but it is very pretty and interesting. The deep gullies, some up to 150 feet, were caused by poor farming practices during the 1800s. Today they make some of the prettiest photographs within the state. The…
