Best RV Parks & Resorts near Ozark, AL

Several RV parks operate in the Ozark area, with Wiregrass RV Park directly in town and Mr. D's RV Park offering 37-40 level sites with full hookups including 30/50 amp electrical service. "I stayed in site 98, which was fairly level and plenty long enough for our 5th wheel and F450. The sites in this CG are close to each other," noted one camper about Deer Run RV Park, located approximately 30 miles north in Troy. Military Park Fort Rucker Recreation Area Engineer Beach RV Park provides pull-through RV pads with water and electric hookups, but no sewer connections at individual sites. Most parks feature concrete or gravel pads, with varying degrees of shade depending on the campground section.

Most RV parks in the area remain open year-round with Verizon service generally providing the most consistent coverage. Dump stations are available at some parks, while others offer full sewer hookups. Laundry facilities are limited, with only select parks providing washers and dryers on-site.

Point A Park RV & Campground

    Peaceful and Clean

Point A Campground Andalusia, Alabama This is a nice campground with very nice camp hosts and clean bath houses. We did not notice any long term campers. We had full hookups, wifi, cable, a fire pit, and a nice concrete picnic table on a partially gravel and red dirt and partial asphalt unlevel site. Our site was $40 a night without any added fees. They only accept cash and check. No deposit was required!! We had a water view, but plenty are on the water. We had shade. They have several large pull through sites without a sewer. A lot of the other campers had their boats and trailers and it looked like they were enjoying fishing and tubing on the lake. Plenty of children were swimming in the water at the end of the pier. The campground is pet friendly. Andalusia is a quaint, small town that is a little over an hour north of the Florida Panhandle. We enjoyed the 4th of July parade and they have several good restaurants.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Falling Waters & Quietness

Camp sites have been renovated, all new gravel with railroad ties for retaining wall for the gravel.  Sites are all 50/30 amp with water.  Most of the sites are under shade.  It is a small campground with only 20 spots and some are tight if you have a big rig, but there are pull throughs for the big rigs.

    Staff was friendly and helpful.

Shower facilities were clean - at least mens.

I'd give it a 5 start but the dump station does not have the hose hookups for flushing your tanks, just draining.  So be sure to fill up your gray tank to wash down he black excretions.

I'll return because it was enjoyable area.

COE Walter F George Lake White Oak Creek Campground

    Beautiful campground with great sites

Stayed December 2019 for a long weekend. The sites are all very nice with fire ring, lantern pole, picnic table, small counter height table, and concrete pad for your camper or tents. Ample additional parking available. Bathrooms were well maintained. We stayed in the Oakwood loop. River Chase loop has the best playground. Staff were very friendly. Several dump stations as well as a dog park. Would like some more hiking trails.

    Lakepoint Resort State Park Campground

    Great stay in winter

We stayed at this campground in a pull through site in February on our cross-country adventure. Plenty of room for big rigs. Easy to navigate roads. Safe for kids to ride around on bikes for hours. Site are big and the one we were at backed up on woods. Great view of the lake and sunset.  Lots of beautiful space to explore in the park, even in the chilly weather. Will definitely have to come back in the Spring!

    Nice quiet RV park

Perfect place to stay for short or long term. Close to town but just far enough away to have peace and quiet. Had fishing ponds, waking trial, bath/laundry house and pool. We stayed a month with plenty of space.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Tallest waterfall in florida.

Not a very big state park but it was very quiet and relaxing. Only about 20 sites total with a very nice restrooms and showers. There was also a spot to wash dishes. Alot of trees so plenty of shade. There are pull through and back in sites. Tent camping all the way up to class A. Water and electric but no sewer at site. There is a dump station. The falls and the lake were nice but depend on rainfall. We have been in a little drought so it was a trickle. There are fish in the lake but do not like to be caught. Swimming area at the lake as well. Some trails but not a bunch. Would definitely come back.

    Falling Waters State Park Campground

    Nice Quiet Stay

Falling Waters is a convenient stop, close to the interstate and easy to access. The campground is gated with an access code for after-hours entry, which made us feel secure. Sites are level gravel with a picnic table, fire ring, and even a handy towel-drying rack. They’re spaced nicely, not too close to neighbors, which we appreciated.

The bathhouse facilities were clean and well-kept (we didn’t use the laundry facilities), and there’s a dump station since none of the sites have full sewer hookups. Cell service with T-Mobile was excellent.

The park itself has a small but nice swimming area at the ‘lake’ with its own restroom house. Unfortunately, there hadn’t been any rain during our visit, so the falls were dry, but the trails were still worth walking. We brought our e-bikes, but aside from riding around the campground and down to the lake and trailhead, there really aren’t bike-friendly paths—definitely wouldn’t recommend taking bikes on the trails.

Oh, and the play ground was very nice and the covered pavilions were nice.

We checked in after hours without any issue, but Joey came knocking at 8 AM sharp the next morning like the police 🚨 to give us our parking pass—definitely a wake-up call we weren’t expecting!

The nightly rate was advertised at $18, but after fees it came to around $30 per night, which still isn’t bad for what you get. Overall, it’s a peaceful, clean campground with good amenities and a nice location, just don’t expect to be able to ride bikes on the trails or always see water at the falls.

Highly recommend the 45-minute drive to Econfina creek, we rented a canoe and did the 8-miles to see 7 springs.

The area experiences a humid subtropical climate with mild winters and hot summers, creating year-round camping opportunities. Several RV parks operate within a 30-mile radius, offering both short-term and extended stay options for travelers.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Engineer Beach RV Park offers convenient lake access via a boat dock at Lake Thollocco. "There is a boat dock which is convenient for accessing Lake Thollocco," notes Samantha F., who enjoyed the family-friendly atmosphere despite mentioning "helicopters going over at all hours of the day and night."

Nature trails: Several campgrounds feature walking paths through wooded areas. At Kelly Creek RV Park, campers can explore natural surroundings. "We took the dogs for a walk down along the creek, through some nice woods and a meadow, it was a nice walk. They even have a catch and release pond," reports one visitor who appreciated the quiet location.

Outdoor games: Some facilities provide recreational activities on-site. "They also had a covered picnic area and an area with corn hole and horseshoes," according to MickandKarla W., who stayed at Rosemont RV Park and found it "a good overnighter" for travelers passing through.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campers appreciate the ample room at certain parks. "Sites are very big and there was lots of space," writes a reviewer about Kelly Creek RV Park, adding that "end spots are $35 plus tax a night, the other sites are $40 with a patio and outdoor wrought iron tables and chairs."
