Reservations are available year-round at this established KOA campground positioned on a hilltop just off Interstate 10. The facility accommodates RVs up to 85 feet with full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections, plus a dump station for those needing it.
Sites feature both gravel and concrete parking areas, with premium view sites offering elevated positions overlooking Las Cruces and the surrounding mountains. Karen S. notes "the location of the camp, set on a hilltop, was perfect for seeing stars and the distant city lights." The campground operates at roughly half capacity during winter months, providing more space between sites.
The dog park stands out among amenities, featuring decomposed granite surfaces with a grass center section and climbing structures for pets. Restroom facilities include marble flooring and receive consistent praise for cleanliness. WiFi reaches throughout the property, and some sites include concrete patios with fire pits. A camp store sells supplies and local crafts, while laundry facilities use top-loading machines.
Road access involves well-maintained internal drives mixing asphalt and gravel surfaces. Pull-through sites tend to be narrower than back-in options, with view sites providing the most outdoor space for tables and chairs. "The Big rigs are very close to each other," observes one reviewer, particularly in the pull-through section. The facility includes a pool, playground, and half basketball court.
Staff members provide area maps highlighting nearby attractions including the historic Pilot Travel Center — Las Cruces and Mesilla wineries. The campground works well for Interstate 10 travelers needing full amenities and mountain views, especially those with larger RVs requiring reliable hookups and level parking.
