    Big Sandy Reservoir

    Great spot for a break from the traveling grind

    Found the spot no problem. Not sure how many spots but the reservoir is very big with campers dispersed all around it so lots and lots of room. Probably 10 or more campers in sight and some out of sight, closest one to us was about 1000 yds or more away. Some fishermen came on Sunday morning at daybreak but just drove by our spot. Areas are pretty level, road ok, no major issues. Just a little washboard-y. It's September 6th, memorial day weekend and temps are high today of 77⁰. Got chilly last night, 47⁰ but being from Pennsylvania, didn't mind it at all. Climate is very dry as this is in what's considered the high desert, about an hour south Jackson and the grand tetons which you can easily see in the distance. Gets a little windy. Had some good gusts today. Had a mouse in the camper overnight in the garbage. Sites are probably about 2 miles off the main road. Can hear vehicles faintly but not anything that'll keep you awake. Can see wild mustangs about a 1000 yds away as I'm writing this. Great cell service, well with tmobile anyway. All in all, a great spot and would definitely stay here again.

    Grouse Mountain Basecamp on Forest Road 403

    Peaceful Great Views

    Turn on to 402 off of 16. Plenty of space with multiple spots with fantastic 360° views. Suitable for all size rigs. If you drive to the end there are 2 gates. The one on the right is private property. The one on the left is 403. We moved our 32ft RV to a spot past the gate after staying a few nights off 402 just for a change. Both are great locations!

    We stayed here for two nights at a rate of around $69.00 per night. The campsite at the KOA was nice, with friendly staff and a small store. There is a walking gate at the back that allows guests to cross the street for drinks and food. Right behind the park, there are two dining options: The Hanger Bar & Grill, which had poor service and bad food, and Chatter's Bar and Grill, known for good food and drinks. Please note that Chatter's is a local hangout and can get a bit rowdy. We had no issues during our visit, and the bartender was friendly.

    Fishing Bridge RV Park--Yellowstone National Park

    Really nice campground

    We stayed here for 3 nights to see the sights close by then on to Gardner for several days to see the northern portion of Yellowstone. While the campsites are rather close together, we faced the forest and felt we had adequate privacy. Saw deer right across from us, and elk by the main road leading into the campground. While we didn’t use any of the additional facilities like showers or the laundry, I can say the laundry area looked great and was a couple dollars cheaper than the laundry at our campground in GTNP. We were in loop A and it was very quiet both during the day and at night. I would definitely stay here again.
