Forlorn Lakes, one of the most popular campgrounds in the southern part of the forest, offers 25 campsites scattered around the wooded shores of small, picturesque lakes. Swimming and fishing are possible in the larger lakes. Huckleberry bushes grow in the campground and surrounding area making this site very popular during huckleberry season. The campsites at a maximum 18 feet long are suitable for tent camping and small campers or RV's. The day use area has lake views, picnic tables, and fire rings. The campground is very popular, the camping spots fill early in the week. Forlorn Lakes offers nearby access to Indian Heaven via the East Crater Trailhead.

A small, less developed campground for tent camping only, located at the confluence of Twin Falls Creek and the Lewis River. The campground is placed on the banks of the river with an impressive view of the falls. Nearby Summit Prairie Trail #2. 5 walk-in sites available.

Yurt at Rivendell Romance in the Forest

Lower Falls Campground is located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Visitors enjoy several waterfalls in the area and access to the Lewis River Trail. The campground is open from May through October. Recreation Near the campground are several trailheads that provide visitors with a variety of recreational opportunities. There are hiking trails, mountain bike trails, horse trails, and motorcycle trails within 10 miles of the campground. The Lewis River contains rainbow, cutthroat, and bull trout as well as whitefish. The area is catch and release only. Facilities Lower Falls Campground offers 43 standard sites that accommodate both tents and RVs (60 feet), but no hookups are available. Picnic tables and campfire rings with grills are provided, as are composting toilets and drinking water. Natural Features The campground is just off the Lewis River at an elevation of 1,300 feet. The campground road is paved and shaded by large evergreen trees. There are trails down to the Lewis River and falls area. Nearby Attractions There are falls viewing opportunities at Lower Lewis River Falls, Curly Creek Falls, Big Creek Falls, and Middle Falls, all within 15 minutes of the campground. Lower Falls Campground

## Overview

Takhlakh Lake Campground sits at an elevation of 4,400 feet in a well-shaded location next to its namesake lake. The campground sits at the base of Mt. Adams, providing visitors with incredible views in every direction. The campground has a short season, but it's a particularly popular destination for hikers exploring the trails around Mt. Adams.

## Recreation

The campsite offers access to the Takhlakh Loop, an accessible trail suitable for all ages and skill levels and the Takhlakh Meadow Trail.   
  
The lake provides an ideal spot for anglers to cast for rainbow trout and for boaters looking to kayak or canoe. The lake is reserved for non-motorized use only. 

## Facilities

The campground consists of 54 back-in sites with unpaved parking spurs that vary in length from 15 to 40 feet. Some sites are tent only.   
  
No drinking water is provided at this campground, but other amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables and campfire rings.   
  
Takhlakh Lake Campground offers accessible sites and activities and amenities that support current accessibility standards.

Takhlakh Lake is part of the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District, which is located in the northernmost portion of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.   
  
This location offers breathtaking views of not only Mt. Adams, but also Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Saint Helens.

Near the campground, hikers can access trailheads for the 2,663-mile Pacific Crest Trail. This leads to the Highline Trail, which attracts experienced hikers and backpackers for its views of Mt. Rainier, Mount St. Helens and Oregon's Mt. Hood.

Cancellations for a one-night reservation will forfeit the entire amount paid and will not be subject to an additional service fee.

No-Shows

A no-show visitor is one who does not arrive at a campground and does not cancel the reservation by check-out time on the day after the scheduled arrival date. Staff will hold a campsite until check-out time on the day following the arrival date.

No-shows are assessed $20.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's rate, taxes and applicable add-on for a campsite. 

Refunds

Visitors may submit a refund request through their Recreation.gov profile within 7 days of the end date of their reservation. Refunds will not be issued after the 7 days has ended.

Refunds for debit or credit card payments will be issued as a credit to the original bank or credit card used to pay.

For check or cash purchases, Recreation.gov will mail a Treasury check for refunds of cash, check, or money order payments to the address associated with the reservation. Treasury check refunds may take up to 6-8 weeks to arrive. 

In the event of an emergency closure, the Recreation.gov team or facility manager will refund all fees and will attempt to notify you using the contact information within the Recreation.gov visitor profile.

We purchased Lis-Bon Acres 🥚🐝🐰 over 10 years ago. Prior to our ownership, the property was home to a Christmas Tree farm for over 25 years. We have allowed the Christmas Trees to grow and have the property in Timber Management.

This 30+ year old reformed Christmas Tree farm seeks campers looking to experience our hobby farm and glamping adventure. We are 15 minutes from Lake Merwin, 20 minutes from Moulton Falls, and 40 minutes from the Ape Caves and South side of Mt. St. Helens. There is plenty of beautiful sights to visit.

We are a working hobby farm and your stay allows for a tour and visit with our animals. We have alpacas, goats, a mini donkey, geese, ducks, chickens, and rabbits. Plus we have an area for kiddo enjoyment that includes a ninja course, seesaw, teether ball, and volleyball net. Wander around the wooded areas and keep eyes open for wild rabbits, newts, and count the variety of birds you see.

Access to boating, kayaking, or swimming at Lake Merwin is 15 minutes away. A brief country drive will have you off exploring the wonders of Mt. St. Helens' South side including the Ape Cave lava tube (24 miles) or Lava Canyon (34 miles).

Peterson Prairie Campground offers shaded and secluded campsites nestled in a forest of large pine, spruce and fir trees. The campground tends is popular among huckleberry pickers.  
  
  
At an elevation of 2,800 ft., Peterson Prairie offers a cool summertime climate during the hottest part of the season. Several kid-friendly attractions are a short distance away, making this campground a great choice for families.

## Recreation

Seasonal harvesting of huckleberries and mushrooms is a popular pastime.  
  
  
  
Natural Bridges and Ice Cave are scenic, family-friendly nature trails near Peterson Prairie Campground. A stairway leading into the Ice Cave allows convenient access to the cave's incredible ice formations. Please be prepared when visiting the caves. Information is avaialble at the campground and the Mt Adams Ranger Station.

Drinking water and vault toilets are available. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. The sites are spacious with gravel parking spurs.

Exploring the wilderness of the Pacific Northwest means choosing between beaches and deserts, forests and volcanos, lakes and prairies. The Cascade Mountains run down the center of Washington like a spine. A handful of highways cross the crest in parallel lines, all running from the evergreens of the west side to the wide open grasslands of the east. Camping in Washington is available along every route, like the state parks that dot I-90 and North Cascades National Park that hugs Highway 20. 


Take Highway 2 over Stevens Pass to find old-growth trees around each spot at Money Creek Campground, plus a view of a classic metal train trestle. Fill each day with hikes through the Cascade forest, perhaps on a stretch of the Pacific Crest Trail where it passes the Stevens Pass Mountain Resort ski area. Head east of Stevens Pass to verdant Lake Wenatchee State Park for wooded campsites near the shores of a placid mountain lake and a stable inside the park offering trail rides through the summer. There is currently limited linen service (sheets/blankets/bath towels) provided so please be prepared to bring those items with you (We reflect this in a lower cleaning fee after your stay) . Mattresses, pillows and disposable covers are provided in the lofts. These are tiny cabins on the side of a Mountain so "glamping" is the name of the game! We will send out reminders prior to your stay.

We have a convection oven perfect for small easy cooking, a two burner induction cooktop, microwave, kettle and mini-fridge. There are napkins, paper plates, cutlery and cups.



Guest access

The entrance to the Nisqually River can be found a short walk down the road.

As you exit the driveway of the cabins, take a left. Keep walking a very short distance until you see small entryway on the left side entering the forest. There you will see a faded sign with blue letters that says “Pack it out”. This walk leads you to a fork that breaks into 3 pathways. Take the center route for the easiest path to the river.

Please keep in mind the river changes frequently and consider bringing good shoes to easily traverse rocks and fallen branches. In the early spring it is best to bring shoes you don’t mind getting wet or that you can take off easily.

Once there, if there are no clouds, you can see the summit. It is a beautiful neighborhood secret and probably our favorite part when visiting!

There is a shared propane heated outdoor shower available. Instructions for use will be sent at check-in.
