Krondel campground

There seem to be many long term RVs here. Sites are very close together but have power, water and sewer. It was quiet the night we stayed. Nice lake and splash pool for the kids. Paved 1 mile path around the lake. Older showers/toilets could use some updating. Decent Mexican restaurant in nearby…

Nice, Clean, Well-organized

Good for families wanting a quiet vacation. Didn't find much to do in the area though.

Beautiful but questionable design.

We stayed down at the "lake" spots which are not on the lake but quite above it. Our first site was #19, we were even hesitant to park our 23ft camper in it, but we did and then realized that as soon as we try to get in or out of the camper, it was a steep drop down 5ft. All the sites around this…

Nice but a bit cramped

The park is nice and well maintained. The loop we were in was super cramped. We are in a popup camper and I have no idea how the folks in large trailers navigated and got set up. There is not much space between you and the next site. Only space for one car per spot. Very little cell reception…

Small Site, Good Hiking

Lake Hope was super crowded and the sites felt like they were literally on top of each other. It also was not super clear on which site was which. Our site was on a hill, but there were 2 sites, one at the bottom and one midway down so we had to ask. Luckily both were not booked and they let us…

Small Campsite

We had a good time, but it was insanely crowded and the sites felt like they were on top of each other. Our site was a giant hill, so we had to sent up our tents right by our cars. Our fire ring also didn’t have a cooking grate on it.

We did enjoy getting to rent a boat for a few hours and…

Nice park off the beaten path

We have stayed here a couple of times in a tent and a class a motor home.

The campground is pretty secluded but beautiful rolling hills.    While the site we stayed in with the motorhome was fairly level, sites are mostly small and tight on hilly terrain.  That said, I would still recommend…

Secluded

Campground was well maintained, even the pit toilets. Our campsite was huge #46. But some sites seemed very small. It’s a short drive to the lake house for the beach and boat rental. The food at the Lodge is delicious! The drive to get there was rough. Don’t count on GPS. Look it up and plan it…

Winter Visit

We stopped here on Thanksgiving on our way South. Self paying, off season was $15. But the restrooms were closed. There were only 3 other sides occupied. Nice little campground in the Appalachian Foothills. Be aware that Google maps doesn't send you to the campground but to a parking lot at the…

Small sites, very close

Super small campground with one road in/same road out. Check-out time created quite the backup.

The sites were too short for my camper, which is odd because when booking I indicated the length of my camper. I had to back in camper, drop it, move truck, hook camper back up and finish backing in…

Free Free

I don’t have a lot to add to the other reviews, yes, it’s very close to a roadway and train tracks, but it’s free!

Near boat ramp

So I came to this campground because it’s free. I arrived and found the dump station and filled my water tank with potable water, when I moved onto the three spots available (only one was taken) I read the sign that clearly says only RV’s and Trailers allowed and all other will be towed at owners…

Nice trails, not so nice campsites

Most of the sites at this state park campground are very small and don’t have much level ground. Even the sites meant for RVs and trailers are right on top of each other. It’s almost like they took what should have been one site and made it two. There’s a handful of sites that offer a little space…

Great site!

Site 41 with a paved pad and electric. We were across from the shower house and bathrooms. The office is closed but a staff person was on site. Our site was perfect for us with trees on either side to help with shade. Across our site was also a big green space to walk our dogs. Not all the electric…
