    Glamping glory

I really like this place, but a lot of it depends on which level site you want to spring for. I’ll start with the cons: camp sites are pretty close together. Tents sites are real close RV sites are so close that or picnic table was only 6 ft from the sewer connect for the next site. No grass at the mid level trailer hook ups, either. Also the dock was down (I blame COVID), but I can’t hold it against them. Fire pits at each site. Tons of amenities: Pool and hot tub (also COVIDized) shuffle board basketball court, Kids play structure, mini golf board and boat rentals, a store... The lake is great, though, once you get past the first 6 feet of muck. It’s warm, shallow, but appropriately named. The water tastes soap and has a film, but that’s the “healing” part, right? The premium RV sites are great. Bigger, some grassy areas, at least one even has a hot tub. There are also teepees and cabins. It’s a cool little space.

    Great family camping

Very clean campground. Nice amenities for families. Put put golf swimming pool hot tubs basketball and volleyball court and nice playground. Paddle board kayak and paddle boat rentals as well. Very little to no motor boat activity on the lake makes for great swimming. Sites are very clean and green! Nice grass to relax in. Very little road noise. Staff is very nice. They knew my wife and I were coming for our anniversary and they had a hand written happy anniversary card for us. Highly recommend.

    Nice campground

We stayed a couple of nights at Smokiam in one of the hot tub sites. It is a very well cared for campground with employees constantly buzzing around on golf carts to be sure there is no litter. Soap Lake is interesting with a very soft muddy bottom on the CG side of the lake.

Perfect for tent camping and off season

Granted we are here off season but the swimming pool, hot tub and clubhouse are immaculate. If you’re tent camping, no worry - bathrooms have showers and are extremely clean. Sites have full hookups 30/50 amp and heated coils to prevent any water freeze. Extremely impress, already one of my favorite off season spots.

    Crescent Bar

We stayed here in July 2021 the pool and hot tub are open the club house is as well. There are 30 and 50 amp sites with sewer hook ups. It is blazing hot here in summer with little to no shade. Nice walking path to the river and to the resort community near by. It is about 10 miles from Quincy Wa. There very few restaurants in town they have a couple of grocery stores and gas stations along with an Ace Hardware. It is only 24 miles to Wenatchee Wa. For a lot more options. We had good AT&T cell and good Sprint service at our site. It is very quiet and laid back. Great views of the Columbia river from back row.

Beautiful Place For Camping & Glamping

We have been to the Blue Lake Resort during June 2021. The location is awesome, quiet and peaceful for a relaxing vacation. The breeze is welcoming& gentle enough to get fresh air. Very friendly staff, good walking, can get out onto calm rides on water, get some fresh water swimming, catch good fish. Newly added Domes and Glamping sites are nice and they are more attrea We stayed in newly renovated cabin. Very clean with new management upgraded everything they can think of. Cabin has all the amenities including full kitchen. The location is awesome, quiet and peaceful for a relaxing vacation. New Management renovated the entire reort including RV, Camping spots, Cabins and especaially bathrooms. All the amenties water/electric, showers, kayak and motor boats rental are included in rental price. So no surprises at the end. It's a must visit stay place for camping/glamping and dome experience

    Windy lakes, cool geology

This is a neat place to explore! The drive in is beautiful, and there are lots of lakes to visit. Deep lake (5 min from camp) is great for kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. The main downside of the trip was the relentless wind almost all weekend, to the point where we didn’t even want to attempt to build a fire. Note that a “waterfront” campsite doesn’t actually have a view of the water… only the cabins were truly waterfront. The camp has lots of amenities: food shack (burgers, fried food, ice cream), grocery, a gift shop with fudge, mini golf, kayak/board/paddleboat rentals, etc. The RV sites have nice shade trees, and water/electric/sewer hookups.

    Blue Lake Resort

    hidden gem near Seattle

We have made 2 trips to Blue Lake Resort during 2021 year. The place is quite serene and beautiful. I highly recommend staying in the dome with lake view. The morning and evening views are spectacular. The staff was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. Free kayak and paddle board was icing on the cake. The lake breeze and the freshness of air kept me 2 more days than planned. The public restrooms and showers were very clean. Another advantage was the dedicated cooking sites. Couple of days it was hard to use the outside cooking due to wind and those enclosed cooking sites were a great option. This saved us from traveling for food. Second time we stayed in the renovated cabin. Well thought layout and having a dedicated kitchen and bathroom is very convenient. The only drawback is, these cabins are not waterfront. You still have the view of water but not as good as the dome or glamping site. Kids enjoyed the glamping sites more than the cabins. Prices are reasonable and most of the facilities(kayaks/paddleboard) are included in the pricing. Kids enjoyed the kayaks and paddle boards. Overall it’s a good value and we will be regular here.

    Gone down hill over years

I’ve gone here for all of my childhood and revisited as an adult they changed management and it seems more money hungry now. They are pretty expensive considering they haven’t upgraded anything. The docks are falling a part and the cabins are very dated but work. Good fishing at the lake though

Probably 3 stars not 5 like they think only cater to front sites

The park maintains front sites much better then back, cabins are not that great and not worth what they charge for them, they have only had 1 decent manager since they bought park and he left, their are much better parks in the area and don't charge as much, owners want Westside rates on eastern side of mountains, would not recommend

Clean and less crowded filled with ample water Ctivities

We had. Road trip from dallas to Vancouver  Canada and stopped in resort for 2 nights.

Camp host was friendly and site was clean.

There was wind in one of the night and the host offered us a free cabin that was available to occupy at no charge. Store was equipped with essentials.

We enjoyed fishing , kayaking on the lake.

Great campground with an awesome lake

I’ve been to this campground countless times because the group site is perfect to pull up boats. There is great fishing, a huge day use area with a volleyball court and room to play softball. The cabins here are comfy. In the past there have been sand dunes on the lake where we’ve explored, as well as a beautiful waterfall. The small canal that comes off the lake is perfect for kayaking or paddle boarding.

    Group Camp

Pros: river runs behind the group Camp - fun to ride rafts (if it’s not too high/fast) all the way to the lake outlet, big group camp site, many good fishing areas around, group camp feels secluded from the rest of the campground, private bathroom, cabins very close that have air conditioners for those who don’t like tent camping, beautiful lightning lights uo the sky when bad weather comes, good easy hIkes Cons: Weather is very unpredictable - in a week, had sand storm, rain storm, and hot muggy heat

awesome kokanee fishing at deep lake!

the campground was nice and tidy, but you're basically sleeping on hard ground littered with a bunch of rocks and little prickly balls (that fell off trees). those little prickly things pierced through my flip flops which was not fun. the wind was brutal and nearly blew away half of our party's tents. the ground is super dry which made getting tent stakes in very challenging. we used our vehicles to try to shield our site from the wind. you are better off renting a cabin or bring your RV! despite all that i actually liked our camping experience since there was so much to see and do. you could go try and golf but the gusts were super strong so i think it would be pointless. banks lake is super close by with a bunch of primitive fee-free boat launches. just don't forget your discovery pass! the fishing at deep lake was phenomenal! fresh caught kokanee pan fried in butter! yum! dry falls are a quick drive up the road and you could even go see grand coulee damn if you wanted to. would i tent camp here again? probably not. would i come back and rent a cabin or van camp? most definitely! would i bring the dogs? not unless they raked up all those prickly things off of the ground. i think it would be complete torture for them.

    Great Trip

This campground has it all for all types of camping. We stayed in a cabin while our friends stayed in an RV site. By far my favorite camping trip of the summer. Not only are the spaces fairly big for a private campground our spaces have full hooks up including sewer. Also the ability for a boat slip 30ft from your door is a plus. The lake is absolutely beautiful and was perfect for water activities, cliff jumping, and great spots for swimming. Very affordable and I will be looking forward to my trip back in a few months.

    Ellensburg KOA

    Cool spot in Ellensburg

This is one of the larger KOAs I have been to.  Plenty of room for RVs, trailers, and tents.  They also have a few cabins to stay in.  Our site was near the playground which was central to the camp ground. There is a TV/ play room that my littlesloved but not as much as the heated pool, yes, they have a heated pool!

This site lies on the banks of the Yakima River.  My dad was able to go fly fishing and my littles were able to search for rocks and fish in the shallow areas.

The general store has all your basic needs, but a difference from other KOAs was that they sell bee and wine!

The hosts are great but are pretty strict with quiet hours (which I prefer with littles).

Second time was not the charm

I was so excited to visit the campground again, but when I showed up I heard the words “we have new ownership” uh oh… the park was still the same with amazing water access, great boat launch area and lots of cabins for those not wanting to commit to a full camper set up. The newest verbiage that they do no encourage pets any more, and the $25 a night pet fee was a little unsettling. Also this was not communicated and we got hit with almost $100 in pet fees when we checked out. Night two resulted in the power to 20% of the campsites going out and would not be fixed. 100 degrees with no A/C was a great way to clear a section of the campground. Overall a good trip, but my rating went down to 3 stars because of the new pet policy. If you don’t have pets then it is a great place to stay. For us we love Blue Lake itself, but will be moving to another resort on the lake.

Camping and day use on sand dunes *WiFi

Last visited in 2020. New is Wi-Fi. I did remote work off and on. Used to come every year in late summer when water level is low and there are more sand dunes. There's 6 circular FHU loops (back in only), a group camp and cabin loop. In the main campground campsites are well spaced with room in the middle of each loop to park boats or extra cars. There are token operated showers, boat trailer parking and fish cleaning stations. Our kids would bike, scooter and use the playground. We boat out to the dunes, spend the day on a dune and fish and do water sports from there. The swimming area is hit and miss depending on the water level. Be aware of lots of vegetation in the water near the shore. Sometimes swimming is prohibited when there is a toxic algae break out. So check ahead. Also, when tenting during the week (M-Th), pitch tents on tent pad, not the grass (read the signs posted). Sprinklers run regularly. At night you can hear the coyotes. Boat launch area was rebuilt and can get busy. It's our fam fav.

    Mardon Resort

    Convenient but Crowded

This was our first visit to an RV “resort” and it wasn’t horrible. MarDon has lots of nice amenities but boy is it crowded. If you don’t mind crowds and like the convenience of resort camping MarDon is a good choice.

(Disclaimer: I prefer boondocking and getting as far away from people as possible, so read this review with that in mind.)

MarDon Resort sits on Potholes Reservoir about 16 miles southwest of Moses Lake. The reservoir is massive and offers excellent fishing and water sports. Central Washington gets dry and hot in the summer so come prepared.

The Resort has been around since the 1970s and offers a lot of amenities: full hookup sites, tent sites, monthly rates, marina, restaurant & bar, swimming beach, mini golf, boat & golf cart rentals and more.

    Old time fishing campground

Our first camping trip 20 years ago was here, not much has changed. The restrooms are fine. There's a boat ramp and and rental boats and small store. If you get a beach front campsite you can beach your boat at your site. The fishing was great. We had power and water. There's a free dump station.

    Awesome secluded desert getaway

Potholes is a great place to stay to get away from the busy cities around the state. Not too far from Seattle but far enough to relax. Has limited water access, best by the boat launch. Great place to bring your watersports. Beautiful, clean and amazingly kept. Great for wildlife viewing and fishing. Great for groups, Rvs and tents. Bring your bug spray!

    Lots of fun!

I seriously love this campground. Went there one week ago for the weekend, Friday night was really windy during the night. They have a store, kayak/paddle board rentals, bathrooms and showers (bring 50cents coins!). The lake is so refreshing! It’s super hot there and I could spend all day swimming in the lake. And the best part is the view. Is so beautiful! I’d definitely come back.
