About
State Park
Rockport State Park is dedicated to offering many recreational opportunities to anyone and everyone. The launch ramp on the east side of the reservoir is a great place to launch a boat. Rockport Reservoir has good fishing for both trout and bass, and in the summer it is a busy lake with many people tubing, waterskiing, and wakeboarding. There are also over a hundred campsites available for camping year round.
Riverside campground is about 3 miles away from the lake and primitive.
Find first-rate, year-round recreation at this northern Utah destination. During summer, fish, boat, and waterski on Rockport Reservoir. Tent or RV camp in one of five developed and primitive campgrounds. During winter, ice fish and access nearby snowmobile trails.
Geography: The Rockport area was colonized in 1860. It was named for the rock fort built to protect settlers from Indian uprisings. About 200 people lived there until the land was purchased in 1957 by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation for construction of the Wanship Dam. Rockport Reservoir is about three miles long and one-half mile wide. At an elevation of over 6,000 feet, it covers more than 500 acres.
Recreation: This high elevation (6,000 feet) park provides great year-round fishing. Warmer weather water sports including waterskiing, swimming, sailboarding and sailboating are popular. Ice fishing, cross country skiing, and nearby snowmobile trails are popular activities during winter months.
Facilities: Campgrounds offer developed, primitive, group and boat-in camping.

Not Real Camping
These are maintained spots more or less in a field behind a neighborhood. I made a reservation based upon the pictures, we didn’t even bother to stay. If you are literally only after a place to sleep I guess it’s fine. Other than that I would not recommend. The host wasn’t the nicest either, the spots are marked on a 4x4 with a 6” long piece of paper on them…I was looking for our spot and pulled into a loop that was reserved nobody was occupying it currently & the host jumped my ass when I turned around. His whole demeanor changed when I told him I had a reservation. Between the host & camping in someone’s field I left. Paid $28, such a waste.
1 Night Stay
Beautiful scene! The camp hosts were very accommodating and everyone was friendly. We had an amazing spot.
Quiet campground, but nothing special
Campground is nothing special and doesn't really have a great view of the lake despite its name. It is however cheap, well located, there were more then enough walk up spaces and the vault toilets were very clean 👍🏻
