Best Cabin Camping near Nephi, UT

Cabin options near Nephi, Utah include both simple and fully-equipped accommodations. Oasis Campground at Yuba State Park offers cabins with electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire pits within walking distance of Yuba Lake. "We planned to tent camp here, but our friends rented the cabin next to our site and couldn't make it last minute. So we got the cabin! Great spot. Lake is cool and an easy walk down from the sites," notes one camper. Mammoth Cabin in Ephraim provides drinking water, picnic tables, and access to toilets but no electric hookups. Palisade State Park Campground features cabins with electric, water, and sewer hookups alongside shower facilities.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. The Payson Lakes Guard Station offers a more primitive cabin experience with electric hookups but no drinking water on-site. Pleasant Creek RV Resort provides full-service cabins with access to showers, toilets, and a swimming pool. "Clean restrooms and showers. Great swimming pool. Beautiful camp sites," reports a visitor. Most locations accept reservations, which are especially important during summer months when cabins book quickly. Pet policies vary by location - Mammoth Cabin and Payson Lakes Guard Station prohibit pets, while Oasis Campground and Palisade State Park allow them.

Most cabins include beds but require visitors to bring their own linens, towels, and toiletries. Cooking facilities vary significantly between locations - some offer only fire pits while others may have more extensive amenities. Orange Olsen cabins feature more comprehensive facilities, as one visitor notes: "The Dwelling is large enough to hold a really big family or two couples with small children. The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four. Both have showers, toilet, with running water." Pleasant Creek RV Resort and Springville/Provo KOA Holiday have on-site markets for basic supplies, while other locations require bringing all provisions. During winter months, availability decreases significantly, with only select locations like Palisade State Park Campground operating year-round.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Great Weekend Getaway

Awesome first camp of the year. Booked as soon as the state parks opened back up. Place really gave that “middle of nowhere feel”, lake and surrounding area were beautiful. Campsites were simple and bathrooms were nice. Only issue we had was we accidentally booked a site without electric. Could’ve been more clear on website, but also likely a rookie mistake being our first camp in Utah

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Much nicer than beach camping

The campground is spacious, has showers, running water bathrooms, fire pits, cement pads and pavilions. Great place to camp- much better than being on the beach- due to the wind! Yuba beach is always windy and the oasis campground gives some reprieve

    Orange Olsen

    Great cabins for the cost.

I really want to give a poor review so no one else will take my future reservations.  However, they really are in a great location and easily accessible.  The Dwelling is large enough to hold a really big family or two couples with small children.  The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four.  Both have showers, toilet, with running water.  The lake is about a mile down the road. The nearest open boat dock is on the other side of the lake (~3 miles).  The ATV trails are endless and right out the driveway is access to Skyline Drive AKA God's Country.  Fishing is good at Joe's spring and fall. Summer time is better for swimming and wake boarding.  The smaller lakes and ponds are better suited for summertime fishing.  Luckily the are short drives.  Not much of a rock climber but I know the only reason my in-laws come is to go drag themselves up a rock while I wet a fly.  Overall a pretty laid back place to spend a few days relaxing.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Serene

This is a great spot on your way through or just for a weekend getaway. Each spot has a cover over the picnic table and most spots have a view of the lake. The spaces are pretty far apart and you have a decent amount of privacy.

There is a lot to do including camping swimming 🏊‍♀️ on the beaches, and water is warm. The campground ⛺️ is about 25 miles south of Nephi. Recreational opportunities include camping, 🛶 , swimming, fishing, and ATV/dirt bike 🏍 paths.

There is developed and primitive camping is available at Oasis and Painted Rocks campgrounds and at the beach areas. There is a lot to fish for including northern pike, walleye, yellow perch, wiper, and catfish year-round.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

    Nice facilities, well-maintained

Spent a night here. Nice facilities, with covered picnic tables at each RV spot, water, and most with electric. Nearby dump station. Some grass and green areas for dogs. Adequate shower facilities. Pretty scenery, and several miles away from the interstate so very quiet. There was an algae bloom that made lake hazardous, so we kept dogs away from the water.

    Springville / Provo KOA Holiday

    Nicely run, just too cramped

This KOA is very nicely run. It's clean and we'll kept. The backdrop of mountains and colors are gorgeous. It's just very cramped. Your door opens right to the neighbors hookups. There are strips of grass between but they hold half of a picnic table.

This is a good spot to hook up and top off for a night or two, or if you're planning on staying inside, or if you're going to head up into the mountains for hiking and leave the rig behind.

Can't comment on the cabins but they seem nice and the amenities areas are very nice as well. I just prefer a little space when I'm camping.

    KOA

Well it's your topical RV resort. It doesn't have a fire ring and it's by train tracks and a freeway. Also, your packed in like sardines. However, it will do for overnight. I have to say it is clean and kept up well. But if you're into private camping with space, this isn't for you.

Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park

Super clean and lots of space

We loved camping here for a couple days. The scenery was beautiful and we enjoyed being a little more secluded in our site. Lots of green grass and the sites are great with a sunshade over the tables and great fire pits. We stayed in an trailer, but each site had a tent pad that is well taken care of.

Located in central Utah with elevations between 5,000-9,000 feet, the area experiences hot summer days and cool evenings. Seasonal availability varies significantly, with most cabin options closing during winter months due to mountain snow conditions.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Palisade State Park Campground offers excellent shoreline fishing with multiple species available. "Plenty of fish to catch off the shore or in a boat," notes Matt L., who visited the park recently. The park also rents pedal boats for those wanting to access different fishing spots on the lake.

Water activities: At Oasis Campground — Yuba State Park, visitors can enjoy swimming, boating, and fishing in Yuba Lake. "The campground is about 25 miles south of Nephi. Recreational opportunities include camping, 🛶, swimming, fishing, and ATV/dirt bike 🏍 paths," according to Alicia F. The water temperature stays relatively warm during summer months.

ATV trail access: Several camping cabins near Nephi provide direct access to trail systems. "The ATV trails are endless and right out the driveway is access to Skyline Drive AKA God's Country," explains Steven G. about the Orange Olsen cabins. These trails connect to the extensive Arapeen trail system that spans the nearby mountains.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campers appreciate the well-designed layouts at Little Valley Campground where cabin sites provide ample room. "Spacious and not too crowded. Lots of hiking spots!" reports Becky J., who gave the campground a 5-star rating.

Clean facilities: The availability of well-maintained bathrooms and showers ranks high with visitors to cabin sites. Rayna D. commented on Heritage Grove Campground, saying it "had very clean restrooms and showers. Lots of amenities like a playground and volleyball net." These facilities make longer stays more comfortable, especially for families.

Quiet locations: Despite being accessible, many cabin locations offer peaceful environments. Sean P. notes about Yuba State Park: "Great place if you just want to get away. Had the whole lake to myself." This solitude is especially noticeable during weekdays or shoulder seasons when crowds thin out.

What you should know

Reservation requirements: Most cabins require advance booking, especially during peak summer months. Karin W. advises about Palisade State Park: "Our best kept secret is no longer a secret and it is crowded all the time," suggesting early reservations are essential.

Amenity variations: Cabin offerings vary significantly between locations. Some provide basic shelter while others include full kitchens and bathrooms. At Orange Olsen, "The Dwelling is large enough to hold a really big family or two couples with small children. The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four. Both have showers, toilet, with running water."

Weather considerations: The area experiences significant temperature fluctuations. "We were there on a weeknight in April so I can imagine it gets pretty busy in weekends and in warmer weather. It was 25 degrees overnight so we were grateful to have the electric hook up!" shares Hailey about her experience at Yuba State Park.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Families appreciate campgrounds with recreation facilities. Heritage Grove Campground features "amenities like a playground and volleyball net," making it suitable for children of various ages who need activity options.

Swimming options: Manti - La Sal KOA provides a swimming pool that enhances the family camping experience. "Clean restrooms and showers. Great swimming pool. Beautiful camp sites," reports Curtis H., highlighting facilities that appeal to family groups.

Cabin size considerations: When booking, check capacity carefully as some cabins are quite compact. At Orange Olsen, Steven G. clarifies, "The cabin is pretty small but large enough for a family of four," helping families set appropriate expectations for space limitations.

Tips from RVers

Site levelness: RV campers should note that not all sites are perfectly level. Kenyon mentions about Manti - La Sal KOA: "The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because some of the sites aren't level and are pretty close to each other. I had to use 3 yellow square leveling blocks on the left side."

Seasonal road conditions: Access to higher elevation cabins can be challenging during winter and early spring. Many forest service cabins close completely during winter months, while those at lower elevations like Springville/Provo KOA remain accessible year-round.

Hook-up availability: For those seeking rental cabins with RV amenities nearby, Edward R. notes about Yuba Campground: "Nice facilities, with covered picnic tables at each RV spot, water, and most with electric. Nearby dump station."
