Hike-in access keeps this backcountry site quieter than roadside options in the area. Mudsprings Trail Backcountry Camping sits within Dixie National Forest near a lake, requiring campers to pack gear on foot to reach the designated camping area. The US Forest Service manages this free site with basic allowances for campfires, pets, and alcohol consumption.
Backpackers appreciate the no-cost camping and pet-friendly policies, though the hike-in requirement means carrying all supplies including water and food. The lakeside location provides water access for those prepared to treat it properly. This spot works well for experienced campers comfortable with pet-friendly camping near Dixie National Forest who prefer earning their campsite through effort rather than driving up to it.
