Stateline Campground

Stand-up paddleboarding and swimming opportunities draw water enthusiasts to Stateline Campground, where the sandy beach area of the reservoir provides direct lake access. This first-come, first-served Forest Service campground sits along the Wyoming-Utah border in Wasatch National Forest, with sites accommodating RVs up to 25 feet.

Most campsites cluster in a parking lot-style arrangement back-to-back, though three sites near the entrance face the lake directly. Not every site includes a picnic table, and shade remains limited across the campground. The vault toilets require some tolerance, and water levels can drop significantly during dry periods, extending the walk to the shoreline. Campers exploring places to camp around Lonetree will find this location less developed than other area options.

Weekend crowds fill the campground quickly, while weekday visits offer more solitude for dispersed camping. The camp host makes daily rounds to collect fees but enforcement of other rules stays minimal. Becky J. found it "spacious and not too crowded" with "lots of hiking spots" nearby.

Arrive by 6 PM on Fridays to secure a lakefront site, and bring extra shade for summer visits when temperatures climb without tree cover.

Stateline camp ground Flaming Gorge

During the week this is a great place if you like to disperse camp. We got there on a Wednesday and had the place to our self. They did have vaulted toilets and dumpsters. The water is very low so it was a little bit of a hike down to the beach. We ended up staying over labor day weekend and it was very busy. The camp host only came around once a day to make sure everyone had paid. So with all this said, If you like to camp by the water, disperse camp and don't mind anyone enforcing rules, then this is a good place.

Sitecamp any where but not on the beach.

Decent Site

Decent site if it there are no other sites open further into Utah. Most of the sites are back to back and while there are trees around the site it feels more like a parking lot than other sites further up. There are 3 sites near the entrance that feel a little more like camping as they face the lake. Of course every site has a table and fire pit with several bathrooms around the camp.

Awesome lake!

State line Cove Campround is great. The beachy lake was awesome. I enjoyed doing some stand up paddle boarding, and swimming in the lake. My campsite was right next to the lake. It was great to open up my tent and see the beautiful lake and sandy area. This campground actually is close to the Wyoming and Utah boarder. There really isn't any shaded areas, so during the summer months I'm sure it gets pretty hot. You can't make reservations ahead of time, it's on a first come first serve basis. However, I got there around 6pm on a Friday and was able to get a good spot. The campsites are pretty bare, and not every campsite comes with a picnic table. The toilets are a little gross, but it wasn't a huge deal for me. I would come back again just to do more stand up paddle boarding in the lake!
