Lots of great camping, fishing, kayak rentals, and boat ramps. Beautiful pavilion for weddings and other gatherings. Lots of trails and awesome animal sightings! Took the dogs and kids here often and loved it!
Had a wonderful time with the kids and the dogs, even while fighting the biting flys, only downfall was one extremely ride park ranger. Overall a great time and we are planning a return trip!
Location is close to many local tourist spots. Great areas to fish or launch a boat at the park. The sites are small and ours was very sandy making leveling a little difficult.
Edged up against the heavily commercialized coast is the Big Lagoon State Park. Located only a few minutes away from some popular attractions, this park provides contrast to the retail area. There are a lot of outdoor activities to do here. We especially enjoyed the boardwalk trails. If you are not from the area and want to see a different landscape, the boardwalk trails provide you with that option. The cost to enter the state park for the purpose of day-use is $4.00 per vehicle/1 person, or $6.00 per vehicle/2-8 people.
We live close enough to camp here often. It’s beautiful. Lots of trails to hike. Bring your kayak and bikes.
We are new to pulling an RV and this was one of our first to visit. This place is awesome. Good trails, excellent scenery an observation tower ….. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We even had a free concert at the out door theater. Only down side is no sewer connection which is not an issue for a short visit. We will visit again!
Great trails to walk, super nice showers and bathrooms. Wildlife is everywhere. Close to the naval base. Very nice staff. The board walk out to the observation tower is great for a stroll
One of my favorites in the are by far! There are kayak rentals at the office, very good prices for the amount of time you have it. The campground has great trails and bath houses. Some sites can get a bit soggy in different seasons but overall a great place!
This is a fantastic find for us. So close to Perdido key beach but very nice quiet and fairly private feeling sites. Our site #7 had a large clean concrete pad and fun sandy area in back with place to stretch a clothesline or hammock. Bathrooms were clean. Price was very reasonable at $21 per night.
