This is more of a 1-night stop over place. The sites are really close together but most are pull-through sites. No picnic tables, just a place to park. Has power water and sewer.
The stag is super friendly and the WiFi works. Free laundry and a bath house with a code to get in.
But. I knew there would be noise from the freeway as it is just off the freeway (I-20). BUT there is also a train that blows its horn AND it’s in a flight path so there are jets flying over pretty regularly (it’s 11:22 pm as I write this. I plan to put on a gray noise machine so MAYBE it will help me sleep.
So well maintained. Gated campground. Code provided if you arrive after 6 pm. Easy to find your way through. The spaces have the leaves blown off so you can easily see the paved areas. It’s just beautiful!
Camping between Christmas & New Years 2021, so not busy at all. The weather is in the upper 60’s a little chilly at times and still humid.
We are in the Deer Run camp area. It and Eagle Ridge areas are more rustic and shady than the Warrior Trails area (the Equestrian area). There are less trees and all the sites are concrete including the picnic table area for each site.
The roads need more paving, lots of pot holes but passable. There is no store close by but there are hiking and biking trails which are nice. I’ve put 15 miles on my bike (2 days).
The sites are very close together, but our neighbors were really quiet. They are permanent (long term) residents. The camp ground is pretty full even now.
The sites are very close together. It is shaded. The sites are gravel and fairly level. There is a swimming pool (outdoor) and a playground. I did not visit the bathhouse so do not know how nice it is or whether or not it is ADA accessible.
The owner helped us to our space and is quite nice. The 2 neighbors assisted us with booking up as this is our first time out in our new camper.
The handyman is a master helper!!!
