      Lake Bryan

While the camp spots are few, this area gets extra points for its walking/running/biking trails. The park is open 365 days of the year and is first-come, first-serve on sites. Only $10 for the night. Check out the Lakeside Icehouse for events and live music throughout the year. Now the trails: ~20 miles through the trees with well-marked signs to guide you. Maps can be found here: https://brazosvalleymountainbikeassociation.wordpress.com/lake-bryan-trail-maps. Several local triathletes train in open water here as well. Outside of peak concert/event times, this is an ideal area for a quiet getaway.

      Brazos Valley RV Park

      Great RV park!

We stumbled upon this park when we were visiting family in the area. It’s a gem! Very well maintained, clean, nice big spaces and good distance between you and your neighbor. Friendly and helpful owners. Also, check out the bulletin area in the laundry room, there’s a lot going on and ways to meet others.

The only cons I would note is the pool size is unbelievably small and there are no picnic tables at the sites.

      Lake Bryan Campground

      NO SHOWERS!!

Had booked 8 days to visit with a friend and meet up with my daughter.  What a nightmare!!  I had called ahead of time to see if they had showers, as I did not see one on the map.  The person that answered and assured me that they had showers.  I have a self contained, but it was an extra $15/night for water in addition to electric.  Anyways, they ONLY have one outside 'rinsing' shower, at the restaurant...  There was about 1000 people there, the day I arrived.  It was opening day, and it is a college town.  The issue is that there was no patrol of the grounds and things were pretty wild.  The management even admitted that "we were taken by surprise"... well, from all the people I talked to, this is the norm for opening weekend.  People were parked in the camping area and it made it difficult to get into my site.  The bathrooms were DISGUSTING!  I only ended up staying 4 days and the bathrooms STILL had dirty toilet paper littering them... same paper... I complained about them.  I saw what appeared to be the manager go check out the bathrooms, then the park host; not long after I lodged my complaint.. but 3 more days, and the bathrooms had not been touched.  The garbage had not been emptied... people there with dogs not on leashes, pooping and not being cleaned up.  They have no-one patrolling the grounds.  Quiet time is from 10pm-6am but the restaurant had a VERY loud band playing until midnight... so much for rules and quiet time!   The ONLY good thing is that they did allow me to check out and refund my money without having a cancellation fee.

If you are looking for clean, family friendly and quiet,,, this is NOT the place to go.

      Lake Bryan Campground

      90% Terrible

Site #9 was extremely unlevel, narrow, and not for big rigs. Only 30 amp service and the 110 did not work.  The campsite host (?) said to load up and move to another site. He was very unfriendly, sarcastic, and just plain sad. This is a party place at night, not suitable for small children or sensitive folks at night. The shade was wonderful! It was also wonderful that they came around every morning to empty trash cans and replace them with new liners.

      Brazos Valley RV Park

      Exceptionally Nice

Exceptionally clean and neat. Site was more than wide enough and more than long enough for my total 62 foot rig. Some long termers but all were clean and neat. Laundry was open 24/7. Good CATV, not so good wifi, AT&T was good.

      Pretty Stay

Gorgeous setting, but very crowded. People pull up for the day with no qualms about being in your campsite. It’s noisy. The staff is very kind. Upon leaving we could not believe the piles of garbage left….and there are plenty of dumpsters! Definitely worth visiting, though.

      Noisy, Busy, High Traffic

Felt like i was camping on the infield of a racetrack surrounded by a promenade of cars/trucks playing loud music- will be hard-pressed to ever go back

      Lake Bryan Campground

The best thing close to college station

One of those, you get what you pay for kind of places. The facilities are there. They aren't great, but at least they are permenant. The lake is there, it's not super pretty but it's also closer to college station and Bryan than anywhere else.
