Camp sites are in a large cow pasture across the street from Bankersmith Dance Hall and Saloon. Please don't come expecting Yosemite or the Ritz Carlton. This is as primitive as it gets. Conveniently located in Fredericksburg, Texas off the famous and beautiful Old Highway 9. A short 7 miles from downtown Fredericksburg, these primitive RV and primitive campsites are close to Luckenbach, the Old Bat Tunnel and Alamo Springs Burger. In fact the campsite is directly across the street and a short walking distance to the historic Bankersmith Dance Hall and Saloon. Guests can enjoy this Texas Original with concerts, festivals most weekends or even just by stopping by for live music(played daily) and a cold drink. The Saloon is open 7 days a week! Campers are of course allowed to bring in food or drink on the campgrounds but it may be easier to enjoy the food from Bankersmith’s Restaurant and Full Bar literally across the street! Hamburgers, Chicken Wings, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwiches and a whole lot more(even Fried Bull Testicles)! This Bankersmith Texas Campground is primitive on site but guests are welcome to use both the restrooms and water sources across the street, in the Saloon, when open. The camping grounds are on a open field close to the entrance of the parking. Campers are not to go through the second gate due to live stock.

Established in 1971, Guadalupe Canoe Livery is committed to your safe and enjoyable river experience. Campgrounds dating back to the 1930's. We offer six canoe, kayak, raft, or tube trips on the Upper Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake from Nichol's Landing to the 311 bridge.

We are not under any of the New Braunfels restrictions. Enjoy floating the Beautiful Upper Guadalupe River as it twists and turns through private property and the Guadalupe River State Park. This 23-mile stretch of river has several Class I & II rapids and waterfalls.

The Upper Guadalupe River above Canyon Lake is about 15 degrees warmer than the River below, which gets its water released from the bottom of the dam. We have Jackson Riviera kayaks, Hyside rafts, and high-grade tubes that come with or without a bottom. Come on a whim, first come first serve.

Nice place, arrive early for instructions

Beautiful location and facilities. It was difficult for late arrival to see and erroneously enter private cow pastures. Because we arrived late, we had no instructions on locked shower room. Get instructions be c or arrival. Quiet and relaxing. Worth it to spend more time hear.

          Pecan RV Park

          Hidden riverside gem

This is an older park, but the river access makes up for the outdated but clean facilities. Our side of the park was along the river and had great shade. The other side had no trees and seemed to be more full-time folks. Facilities are a little dated but clean. There are tons of full-time folks, and I can see why. The river is right there. Great river access and space to sit and watch the tubers go by. Very few bells and whistles. Some folks said it was much more community oriented before the new managers took over. They used to do movies and food trucks, and things just looked better. But it was nice. It was expensive for what it was, but again... the river access made it great.

          Great hidden gem

Stayed in my RV over Memorial weekend. Small rv campground, so book early. Overlooks and has access to Medina river. The owners are extremely kind and helpful, even providing corn to feed the deer.
But don't tell anyone, let's leave this our little secret.

          UP IN THE HILLS

Stayed on the 'hill side' and really enjoyed the park. Most sites you pull in paralllel to the road which is nice. Had deer through our site every day. Really good hiking but some of the trails were closed due to race events. Close to town and not too far of a drive to Fredericksburg and went to the Nat'l Pacific War Museum and that was well worth the drive. Here in October so park was about 1/8 full if even that.

          Lady Bird Johnson RV Park

          Pleasant Experience

Our RV GPS took us right to the park where you check in at their headquarters building. Check in was quick and we proceeded to pull through site 9 with FHUs. Site 9 is only a pull though if site 8 is not occupied. The sites in this area are set up on both sides of the road with you parking in a line, parallel style. There are white lines painted on the road to designate where the sites begin and end. Once unhitched, we were able to park our F450 adjacent to our 5th wheel. The park has cable TV with lots of channels. We got 4 bars on Verizon. The utilities are towards the back of the site, and we needed 15’ for sewer, 20’ for water, and 20’ for electric. The water pressure was good at about 50 psi. We had a clear shot to the north sky for Starlink. A south sky satellite shot may be iffy due to the mature trees in that direction. The WiFi was okay for a CG this size. Site 9 is near the playground and one of the two shower/restroom facilities. The sites in this campground (CG) are for the most part close together, especially in the front area near the entrance. There’s a large fenced dog park along with plenty of areas to walk your dog. With the county airport adjacent to the CG, we enjoyed watching the wide variety of small aircraft. We enjoyed playing a round of golf at the course adjacent to the CG and touring the local wineries.

Its a great place. It is in the process of getting cleaned up.

This park is one of the better ones. It is just needing to be cleaned up with some of the older units that are parked all year round there.

We came for a 1 week stay and ended up for a month. We will come back again. Great location.

Office ladies were great to deal with on our mail also.

          Thank you everyone
