I was just passing through on a road trip and needing a cheap place to spend the night, but this was the kind of park I’d actually come back to and hang out in. The camp sites are spread out and clean. The lake views are beautiful. There are tons of activities like hiking, fishing, or paddle boarding.
I booked here for the FHU sites, but was not overly impressed. The Bois loop pull throughs, although paved, were severely sloped and hard to level. The hiking trails were not that great either. Convenient off 75.
Jake from the Dyrt here! We're excited to have this campground on the Dyrt and ready for you to book, check them out and make sure to leave a review!
A decent spot to stop. The roads within the park itself could use some serious attention. When you first drive into the park, to the left they are in the process of building an entire new section and it looks nice. I wish they would do some upkeep on the rest of the park as well. It’s first come, first served. The first spot I chose had a bad pedestal, so I had to pick up and choose another spot. I would definitely recommend checking the pedestal before unpacking. There were a ton of spots closed off because of the bad pedestals. There’s a nice walk to Lake Texoma which was nice. Not a lot to do around otherwise. Only 4 washers and 4 dryers for the entire park. Verizon service was good, along with T-Mobile. Even better with my cell booster. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Jake from the Dyrt here! The Lodges at Fossil Creek are a unique stay with modern cabins, or you can bring your RV to explore the area! Check them out and make sure to post some pictures of your stay!
I have camped here many times. The park is well maintained and offers beautiful hiking trails and scenery. It is also safe with plenty of staff making rounds to ensure everyone's safety. I have stayed at their pull through camper sites, shelters, as well as tent camping with no complaints. The park is also undergoing construction upgrades and new paved roads ATM but the areas are clearly identified on their website. Definitely a family friendly park with plenty of wildlife to enjoy!
The RV lots are roomy, and the park is active and neighborly, and the evenings are peaceful & quiet. Grounds are well kept and the staff are very accommodating. We'll definitely come back.
We loved our time here! Quiet park with activities and a lake. We had a pull through site with plenty of space for our 44’ 5th wheel, truck and extra vehicle. Would definitely stay again
Very friendly staff. Helped us get settled in a spacious pull through site on level, hard packed, crushed stone. Really nice area to walk the dogs!
Ashley here from The Dyrt! We’re excited to have this new partner online. Just minutes from southeast Oklahoma's most popular attractions. They're walking distance to Lake Texoma, where you can enjoy plenty of outdoor activities, including fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking. Check them out and post some pictures here!
Ver private and natural setting
I’m an avid camper and hiker but when camping here alone at night (no one else was in the tent camping area), my camp site was accosted by a family of raccoons. They were not friendly and not scared of people at all. Be careful if you have young children. Aside from this, the lake was beautiful, peaceful and serene. Camp sites are unique and right on the water.
We came here for a fishing tournament and wanted to stay somewhere on the southwest side of lake texoma. The on site staff is friendly, the sites are clean, full hookups and lake views.
Loved our stay here in the tent section. Trees provided much needed shade, yet enough for solar to stay charged. Restrooms were close, showers were a little bit of a walk. Each tent site has a table and fire pit. Lovely views of lake Texoma. Great hiking and rock climbing opportunities. The marina store is a short walk away and you can rent kayaks and canoes!
Full hook ups available. Some have no sewer hook ups. Most are 30 amp, many are 50 amp. Sites range from full sun to full shade. Quite a few annuals. Might have given 5 stars but both pools are shut down and it's HOT! Lake is accessible- about half a mile down a private road. Interior roads are a bit rough. Mini golf, shuffle board, horse shoes and playgrounds are available.
We stayed here when picking up our new travel trailer from RV Wholesalers. The park is easy to get in and out of with nice sites and very nice pool. Hiking trails we did not have time to explore but maybe next time.
Not a huge fan of camping in state park campgrounds, but this is a very nice option. Had a group campout here with those new to camping. Having easy access to bathhouses and power made it easier to have more people show up. Eisenhower has great hiking options and sells firewood on site
Very good camping experience. Friendly staff, clean park including barhrooms. Example of common courtesy that is not common anymore happened this morning I was eating breakfast outside at my camp site. A few camp sites away a staff member was using a riding mower to cut the grass, as he got closer to me he cut the engine way down so I didn't get dust and grass in my breakfast.
We stayed at spot 18, it was a quick walk to the lake and had the most beautiful wooded view from the campsite. The dump station has 2 spots and very easy to use. The public restrooms were clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. We highly recommend this campsite!
Me and a buddy went on a fishing trip out here and it was phenomenal. The sunrise and sunsets were nothing short of breathtaking and the lake is as calm as butter!
Excellent place to spend a few nights. Friendly staff, nice lakeside restaurant, and clean level sites.
This state park has really beautiful lake views. It can be a little tricky getting down to the lake as it is surrounded by rocky cliffs on the Texas side. Lots of fun trails.
Campground feels safe. Picnic tables, bathroom, and laundry is available.
The campground is tucked away in a woodsy area of Lake Texoma, our waterfront spot had a beautiful view & the sound of the fish jumping all around with the birds was quite serene! The one thing I didn’t care for was the levelness of our spot, it was a little touch & go with my mother & her walker. The only other thing I found strange was the number of mobile homes in the campground, but hey who can blame them!!
If you’re looking for somewhere off the grid that is truly primitive, then this is not the place for you. If you don’t mind other people nearby, then you may enjoy your time here. Great docks for fishing. Beautiful water views, if you camp next to the water. Tent camping sites with electrical hookups are piled next to each other pretty close, so if you’re getting a tent electrical site you had better not mind getting friendly with your neighbors. Also, when it rains some of the tent electrical camp sites fill with water. However, if this happens the front office is more than willing to work with you and give you a refund or switch your site. There is a lot of wildlife roaming around - lots of deer! The primitive camp sites by the docks that overlook the water are beautiful. There is a concrete slab, picnic table, and fire pit at each primitive site. If you want to throw up a hammock, some of the primitive sites have trees that are the perfect distance apart for that - but be aware some of these trees are covered in poison ivy! The primitive sites are all close by to other types of campers, so it is never quiet and you can hear people at all hours of the day/night for the most part. Where we stayed by the water, we were next to an RV site. The other primitive camping sites also seem to be near RV sites and electrical tent sites, according to the map. If you camp near the water, it is very windy, especially at night, so make sure to bring plenty of blankets! Are you ever really on your own here: no. Are there beautiful views: yes. Is it truly primitive: no. Will you be taken care of: yes. All sites are open, with no big trees or shrubs to give privacy. You can see your neighbors and they can see you, even at the primitive sites. It would be a good place to bring a family or children for sure. I will say, the customer service at the main office is outstanding. They have anything you could think of for sale there, which is a huge plus. It is highly likely that you won’t need to drive into town for anything. Workers drive around with trash bags every day to ensure everyone is disposing of trash properly, and will give you free trash bags if you don’t have any, which is nice. All in all it depends on what you’re looking for, whether you choose to come to this camping location or not. We enjoy going here just to get away from the house and enjoy the beauty of the lake/nature for a bit. Although, I do wish there was more privacy. Everything is too close together, in my opinion.
A wonderful place to visit had all the amenities to ensure a fun safe time wonderful hosts very informative and helpful overall wonderful experience would recommend for families and good time seekers
Great place to camp- friendly staff and clean facilities. Lots of spots directly on or near the lake.
