Noisy big clean level asphalt

Summertime, A bit noisy from the ORV rallying till about 10pm then starting by 8am again. But that’s what it’s for... as well as a quick place to crash for the night. Good Stargazing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you camp at Ray Benson Sno Park?

Yes, you can camp at Ray Benson Sno Park. It offers a convenient place to stay overnight, particularly for those enjoying the park's recreational activities. The camping experience is relatively basic, meant as a simple place to spend the night while enjoying the surrounding outdoor opportunities rather than a destination campground with extensive amenities.

What winter activities are available at Ray Benson Sno Park?

Ray Benson Sno Park offers numerous winter recreation opportunities. While specific winter activities aren't detailed in summer reviews, the park is designed as a winter recreation area that typically provides access to snowmobiling trails, cross-country skiing routes, and snowshoeing opportunities. The "Sno Park" designation indicates it's maintained specifically for winter sport access. In summer, the area transitions to support off-road vehicle (ORV) activities.

When is Ray Benson Sno Park open for camping?

Ray Benson Sno Park is open year-round but serves different purposes by season. In winter months, it functions primarily as a snow recreation area with overnight camping options for winter sports enthusiasts. During summer, the park remains available for camping and becomes popular with ORV enthusiasts, with vehicle activity typically running from around 8am to 10pm. The dual winter/summer functionality makes it accessible throughout the year, though the experience and surrounding activities differ significantly by season.

Do you need a permit for Ray Benson Sno Park?

Yes, a permit is typically required to use Ray Benson Sno Park. Most Oregon Sno Parks require a Sno Park permit during winter season (November through April). These permits can usually be purchased as daily or annual passes from Oregon DMV offices, permit agents, or online through the Oregon Department of Transportation. For summer use when ORV activities take place, different permit requirements may apply. It's advisable to check with Oregon State Parks or the Forest Service for current permit requirements.
