Spring Creek Dispersed Sites

Gorgeous area. No officially designated sites but in practice, around half a dozen different spots it seems people have used. The spots are not too close together - I could occasionally hear kids yelling from the next site over, but human noise was minimal. Sites are against the lake but don’t always include easy lake access (e.g. steep drop offs). Felt very private and safe. Main issue is to watch for ticks - we saw so many!

Accessibility: for the site we were at (last one at the end of the dirt road), it was mostly level but soft dirt and deep tire tracks would make wheelchair access tricky.

We took the first spot, which was an easy pull through with a primo level parking spot right by a fire pit and a great spot to sit and watch the sunset and fireflies. Good swimming, too. Very quiet and private. Verizon coverage was good! Bonus: check out the Augusta Metcalfe museum just down the road (free) for some awesome frontier paintings and history!

I am the only person here. It’s a bit chilly but still absolutely beautiful!

We stayed here on a Friday night in early December. There are three dispersed sites in this area. We chose the largest because it was the most private and the most level. There was a picnic table and a fire ring. The site backs up to a pretty interpretive trail with a small pond, though our dog had to be carried in his pack because of all of the stickers.
