Veteran’s Park Lordsburg

This municipal campground provides free overnight parking on a large gravel lot just off the main road through Lordsburg. RVs up to 45 feet can access the level dirt sites, which spread out along several roads extending roughly 400 yards into the property. The location puts campers right off the main thoroughfare, though reviewers report minimal road noise at night.

The park features over 20 covered picnic tables with charcoal grills arranged under canopies, providing shade in the desert setting. Scattered trees line portions of the roadways, and large trash containers handle waste disposal. Cell coverage reaches the area, making this a practical overnight stop for travelers moving through southwestern New Mexico. Ken describes the surroundings as a "fairly desert area and mountains miles away."

Wind can be a factor at this exposed location, though the level ground helps with setup stability. Campers find plenty of available sites even during late-night arrivals. The Lordsburg KOA sits less than a mile north for those seeking full hookups and amenities.

This no-frills spot works well for budget-conscious travelers and RVers needing a convenient overnight stop while crossing the region.

Great option for a quick overnight

I was heading west from White Sands and wanted to make it as far west as I could. I identified Lordsburg as my target stop. At first I tried to New Mexico Rest Stop one exit further west, but it was closed! So I backtracked one exit for this perfect campsite. I should not have passed this by the first time. It was perfect! Even at 10:30 pm. It was easy to find and then pull up to a spot and hunker down for the night. No hassle. Straight forward. There were LOTS of sites available. Very little to no road noise. Very dark, no lights around. It was a perfect quick overnight during a long road trip.

Ok place to stop for the night

It's ok to stop for the night and we are really grateful for this site! There are lots of sites and canopies and grills. However there isn't much around, it's just a gravel parking lot. But fine for an overnight stop.

Free and easy

This park is located on the outskirts of Lordsburg.

It is a large dirt lot, but for the most part is fairly level. There is a row of picnic shelter that have tables and barbecues.

It was so windy when we were here but we didn’t have any problems. There are a few trees and some garbage here and there but overall it was clean and quiet.

You are right off the main road but it didn’t keep us up at night.

For a free spot this one was pretty ok. It didn’t keep us have decent cell coverage too

Veteran’s Park Lordsburg NM

Right off Main Street, south of I10, in Lordsburg NM is Veterans Park. A gravel lot which branches out to 3-4 roads leading in about 400 yards. There are trees lining the side of the road as well as picnic tables, charcoal grills and a canopy over the 20 or more picnic tables. Large trash containers. Fairly desert area and mountains miles away.
