Stayed in spot R1 which is pretty small/crowded in, but near river and trees. Lovely duck and geese ponds and river walk, also dog park. Clean restrooms and showers but no changing stalls in either mens/womens shower. Very quiet and affordable. Near to grocery. Grounds are well-kept and healthy & green (lots of trees, shrubs, beautiful walk by river). Sorry pics are a bit washed out, doesn't do it justice.
Nice place! Great views! It's a quite place with a gathering hall to watch TV or charge your devices if need be. I would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and gorgeous Mountain Views. The showers were clean and they did have laundry facilities. We enjoyed the small play area and the stream.
This is your quintessential mom n pop RV stop in all the right ways. Owners are super helpful in guiding us to our site (which is necessary as there are some spots that are a tight squeeze). They have a great restaurant attached that we utilized for breakfast. They have live music on Friday and Saturday nights, and a farmers market that set up on property on Wednesday if i remember correctly. A lot of full time residents and everyone was so lovely and helpful. Eagle Nest Lake is literally across the road and a wonderful trail to walk or bike. We definitely will stay here anytime we are back in the area.
Some camp sites are very large and only for 18 and over, super nice, and next to big trails. Some camp sites are incredible tight and congested. There are lots of trails, fishing, and side-by-side action.
Dog friendly, but lots of dogs.
Staff is accommodating and you can trail walk, street walk, and free shuttle into town.
This place is in a prime location. The view was 5 out of 5. The cleanliness is 2 out of 5. We didn’t have any cell service. The shower was lukewarm.
This is another great spot in the New Mexican high country, especially if you’re a fan of hot springs AND vintage campers. In addition to full-hook up camping/ RV spots, the resort offers vintage campers for rent. It is a great and quiet place to rest, recuperate,
and just enjoy yourself.
We stayed in the camping loop, and even with electricity and wifi available, had plenty of sunshine for solar power as well as good access for our Starlink. Cell service was pretty skimpy though.
The bathhouse at the camping area was well heated with wonderfully hot showers, flush toilets, and plenty of space. Water and a dump station was available in the camping area for an extra fee.
Access to the hot springs spa was NOT included in the price for camping, and not inexpensive, but the variety of pools and the beauty of the place was worth it. They offer steam rooms, a multitude of pools of varying temperature and mineral content, in addition to a mud bath, lap swimming pool and full locker/ changing room. They also offer full spa services, massages, etc. It was very busy on the weekend with day-use customers, but going early or mid week was a far less crowded time.
The onsite restaurant/pub is a class act and delicious. Nearby there are a few hiking trails right from the property, and with the national forest nearby there’s lots of outdoor adventures available.
The nearest grocery/ convenience store is just down the road, but the selection is pretty limited. The closest town with full services is in Espanola about 30 minutes away.
Very large rv park with full hookups, showers, laundry, and community building. Was not busy when we were here, so we did not have anyone next to us, but the sites are very close to each other. The lake and boat launch are just down the road. Set off the main highway enough that you don't hear alot of traffic noise. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Wonderful views of the mountains.
If you have a pet and want to overnight versus stay at the Casitas, it’s just a short walk to the spa and hot springs (20% discount). RV/campsites offer simple flat overnight spaces and picnic benches. On-site showers too.
We have been coming here for 20+ years. Love roadrunner,so relaxing and fun,the river is beautiful and sounds amazing.
Simply amazing camp ground. The owner, George, was in the lot and guided us into our spot. #8 backed up to the river with a small grassy area right by the water. It was perfect. The scenery is beyond amazing. One of my favorite experiences so far in our RV travels. I cannot say enough about this facility. You will feel the same.
Stayed for 3 nights. Awesome experience. Campground is rustic. Water and electric only. They do have a dump station but it is an extra cost. Sites were small and some hookups are in strange places. Our site #2 was shaded but hookups were at front of site and on wrong side so make sure you have enough power cord and hose. Campground does have a small bathroom and vintage rental trailers. You still have to pay for entry to springs but you get a discount for being in campground. The hot springs are amazing and you can leave and come back. Open till 10 pm which was great and we showered in the great locker rooms at the springs area before going back to camp. There is a great restaurant on site as well as beer and wine.
I had been boondocking up in the mountains in the rain all week and needed FHU to recharge.
Can't remember the price I paid, but it was very reasonable. Minutes from state park, lake access, and Eagle Nest. Close to Angel Fire as well.
Owner was super nice and invited me to come to the clubhouse for some chili - which was excellent!
Views were shockingly good. Because of the weather I felt like I was in the Scottish highlands or something, not New Mexico lol.
Could use this as a stopover or a legit home base to explore surrounding areas.
Used Primitive #9 site along the creek. So peaceful and beautiful, trees shielded high winds and the few quick drizzles. Fishing was well above expectations, catching 14 large trout over the 2 night stay between the two of us. Highly recommend. We experienced no mosquitoes and the stay could not have been better!! 1989 Jamboree C-class.
This is the best rv park in Red River. The river runs right through the park. There is a trout pond, playground, pavilion with live music on most Fridays during the summer and they also have condos and cabins. The staff is so helpful and friendly. If you want to get out of the heat of the summer this is the place to be. Red River is 8,750’ above sea level in the mountains. Daytime temp is in the 70°s and nights are in the 50°s all summer long.
Nice park nestled at the foot of the mountains and on the banks of the Red River. Nicely landscaped with two ponds and a river walk. Location is great for visiting Rio Grande del Norte NM and the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. Just north of Taos too. Nicely shaded, level sites with full hookups. Nice picnic table and grill. Might be a little tight for big rigs, but my little Casita was quite happy. Very friendly folks in the office. Clean laundry and restroom. My site backed up to the river and the sound of the rushing water was the perfect lullaby.
Nice rv park..not a lot of space between spots but you have lots to do beside sit at rv..owners are awesome and always helping rvers..
Camping near the vintage trailers was a cool aesthetic and I appreciated the co-ed restrooms with private showers and toilets. Campers get a free lovely yoga class per day, with another available to purchase, and hot springs soaking is 20% off. I found it quite busy in the afternoon but everyone was friendly and there for a quiet, peaceful time. The gift shop is pricey but absolutely worth visiting.
A great place to stop and enjoy the mineral springs. Nice hiking too. A definite destination. Site -12 is the best. Super private and abuts BLM land.
This place is great for staying close to the baths and getting the full experience while also camping.
The sites are a bit tight for our liking but not many folks were camping this weekend (2/12/22). The bathhouse was nice and heated, which is a plus this time of year.
We also missed having a campfire and there didn’t seem to be a communal fire going on as referenced in other reviews.
This campground has it all. Showers, full hookups and the Hot springs.
This is a great campground for your adventures in the Red River and surrounding areas. A lot of people have ATVs here so there must be trails nearby. I’m working on this trip and I have 4 bars for AT&T. Not trouble connecting and staying connected with my hotspot. Sites are tight, but that’s just the way these days. Sites by the river are best but none are bad. The map on the website isn’t quite to scale so if you are looking for something in particular, it’s best to call the office. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Beautiful small lake. I saw people catch trout. There is a good restaurant. Very cool at night. My sight had 20 amp only but I didn’t need to run AC. Actually used heater in the morning to break the chill. Saw lots of wildlife on my bike ride. No mountain bike trails but I found some pretty scenic riding.
This is our second stay at the River RV. Our camp is right next to the river, there is a shuttle that takes you into town, the facilities are clean and close by, and the fishing is great.
Good price for the experience. 25$ for a tent and 2 people. 5$ charge for each additional person.
The view is superb. Camping sites are a little close but not a problem. My only complaint is the bathroom. Disgusting Lol. But absolutely a must stop place to camp.
We stayed here for 10 days during the “off season” at the end of April. It was beautiful and quiet. The snow was melting and the river was beautiful. George and Chris very friendly and helpful. The showers and laundry were clean and beautiful. And the town was a short walk away with great restaurants. Can’t wait to come back.
4k River Ranch is the best campground in Red River. They've got RV sites, apartments, cabins and a beautiful penthouse in the center of town overlooking the town and mountain. The Red River runs through the park, so you can fish in it or in the stocked private pond. The have 50amp & 30amp sites. Pull-thrus, back-ins & buddy sites. WiFi is good for checking emails and browsing websites. Very nice bathrooms with showers plus a laundry room. The staff is fantastic and they've got a really nice new office/store. They're building new cabins along the Red River plus a new pavilion for family gatherings along with a playground for the kids.
