Cell service can be limited, with one Boulder Creek visitor noting "no ATT cell service" despite good WiFi availability.

      Moose Creek Cabin

Great Forest Sevice cabin, very easy to get to.

Moose Creek cabin is a nice fairly large cabin.  It features a kitchen area, living room and two bedrooms each with two beds.  Cabin has electricity but no running water.  An outhouse is outside.  A nice metal fire ring is available with two picnic tables.  Fire wood is supplied during the winter months.  Wood stove is in the living room area to heat the cabin.  Kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cups and silverware.  A small propane stove is available but you need to bring your own propane.  If you need additional water the near by campground has a pump for water when open.  We took our Girl Scout Troop here in June and they had a great time.

      Lost Horse Cabin

Spacious cabin off the beaten path

Nice spacious log cabin with plenty of room to roam/hike in the area. Beds for up to 8 people, wood stove and firewood on site (firewood not guaranteed). Large open floorplan (takes awhile to warm up when it's cold out though...).

      Missoula KOA Holiday

      New Favorite . . .

This place is on my shortlist for favorites for my week long getaway with my daughter who is 5. To be honest I was a bit concerned after reading a couple reviews describing the place. But hey, we all have bad days, and if I can read 90% positive vibe from a review I will check it out. I will say This place is an oasis that is in a manufactured home area that is very nice. Once you are in, it is a pure KOA experience. So far no company consistently does better than OK always across the board.

Could not be happier with the customer service, and the staff that work here. Just simply top notch. They represent the true spirit of the KOA campgrounds. they lead you to your campsite, they will deliver wood for you, they monitor the pool at all times, make it easy to rent a little bike, and Wednesday through Saturday they have ice cream socials.

I was a bit surprised that I did not see more children here. They have all the amenities that they have in Billings. I think some of the other reviews do not paint a quality picture of this place from a child’s eye. This is my daughters favorite place. From the bike rental to the playground, putt putt golf, swimming pool (2 Adult hot tubs - very clean).

Of course as Tenters the big thing I look at is where I am pounding in my stakes :-) and the grass here in Missoula is perfect. They have several very creative approaches to tent sites. The one that I am staying at has a tent circle, five sites in the round, facing outward, fenced on each side with a picnic table, stand up barbecue, fire pit that is grated, picnic table, running water, electricity, and nice grass. I wish more campgrounds had this creative approach. Everything is well spread out and segregated between cabins, centers, and RV’s.

They even have two really nice teepees in the center of the campground. They are super deluxe and the next time I come here I will be staying in one of them. See the photos.

The campground store is the best stock store of all the KOA’s that I stayed in on this trip. They have everything from ice cream sandwiches to souvenirs.

The facilities are well-maintained and very clean. I’d like the cypher locks on the bathrooms/showers for safety. The driveways are well-maintained, they have a painted bike path for riders. Overall this was just wonderful!

If you have a couple days here I would suggest a 40 minute drive to the National Bison Range. The kids will love it!

PS - My daughter wanted me to add that they have three very large bunnies that roll around the campground. She loves them.

It’s a great cabin it’s super close to the road it has two bedrooms they both have 2 beds a double and a single bed. Camp Paxson

      Amazing!

Sone of my favorite summer memories are at this campground. Primitive cabins with electricity and bunk beds but nothing else. Dock to jump off of. Trails all over seely lake. An area with benches surrounding the fire and a stage. Easy to get to.

      Douglas Creek Cabin

Great Little Cabin with friendly neighbors

Very cute little cabin nestled next to a small creek. The area was very pretty, but had some broken fencing allowing tons of cows to surround the cabin on the morning. Very funny, but a little odd. Trip in was easy enough, road was slightly rutted, but nothing intolerable. A couple bunk beds were in the cabin, and it was definitely warm enough to survive.

      Kading Cabin

Have a quiet unplugged night at Kading Campground

If you are looking for a quiet campground away from electronic distractions then this campground is for you. Kading Campground is located along the upper Little Blackfoot river at the end of Little Blackfoot road. Being at the end of the road and located along the river you will have a nice quiet night as the only vehicle traffic with be those vehicles travel to the campground of near by trail head. Kading Campground has 11 sites, each site has a picnic table and metal fire rings. The campground has two vault toilets. Water is available at Kading Cabin located across the road from the campground entrance. A small public corral is located across the road from the campground, and there are two horse watering troughs in the campground. A trail head at the end of the road can be reached from a short trail at the end of the campground. The trail follows the Little Blackfoot river. A five mile hike leads to Blackfoot meadows a popular fly fishing location. The campground has been recently cleared of its beetle killed trees making the campground much more open than it used to been, but this is still a nice quiet campground to visit.

      Gird Point

      Gorgeous!!

Gird Point Campground which is located in the Bitterroot National Forest is gorgeous. I love camping in Montana- I honestly have never had a bad experience camping anywhere in Montana. Gird Point is definitely no exception. My favorite part about this campsite is that it is located at the top of a peak. Camping on this peak definitely has gorgeous views, no doubt. There are three different mountain ranges that you are able to look out and see. Honestly, this is the best thing to wake up to. Talk about picturesque. You are able to stay in the lookout which has two beds that you are able to put your sleeping bags/pads on, and the lookout sleeps 4 people. When I went, we did have 4 people and it fit us pretty well. There is also a wood stove that works great for heating up water and cooking. The lookout also comes with some utensils and other amenities. Obviously, you do need to bring your own bathing supplies, sleeping supplies, food and drinks. You are able to drive to a certain point and then you do have to hike the remainder of the length to the lookout. The hike isn't too bad.

    Guide to Drummond

Cabins near Drummond, Montana sit between 4,200 and 5,000 feet elevation in an area where the Clark Fork River meets mountainous terrain. The region experiences warm summer days with cool evenings and cold winters with significant snowfall. Cabin rentals provide year-round access with highway proximity making them accessible even during winter months when some forest service roads close.

    What to do

Fishing access points: Flint Creek Campground offers proximity to multiple fishing opportunities. "Very peaceful and beautiful site. We stayed in #3 which was creekside and had plenty of space for a tent. You can drink water from the stream if you have a filter," notes one camper at Flint Creek Campground.

Playground facilities: Several cabin rental locations maintain playgrounds for families. "There are cute flower beds all around and the cabins are adorable. The grounds are SO well maintained and the owners are super nice," shares a visitor about Bearmouth RV Park.

Ghost town visits: Local historical sites provide day trip options from cabin accommodations. "Beautiful views here along the Clark Fork River with lots of things to do in the nearby area including visiting the Garnet Ghost town, Philipsburg, Deer Lodge, Anaconda, Butte and Missoula," explains one reviewer.

    What campers like

Creek-side locations: Many cabins offer water proximity. "Very cute little cabin nestled next to a small creek. The area was very pretty, but had some broken fencing allowing tons of cows to surround the cabin on the morning. Very funny, but a little odd," describes a visitor at Douglas Creek Cabin.

Well-maintained facilities: Campers frequently comment on cabin cleanliness and upkeep. "We enjoyed a cozy campfire thanks to their generosity in providing a fire ring and even a couple of logs to get us started. Their thoughtfulness made the experience even more memorable," reports a guest at Bernie & Sharon's Riverfront RV Park.

Game rooms: Indoor recreation spaces extend enjoyment during inclement weather. "After we ate, we went down stairs to the game room and played pool, table soccer and checkers for about 4 hours. We went ahead and took showers in the downstairs bathroom/shower house. Huge clean shower stalls," notes a camper about Boulder Creek Lodge.

    What you should know

Highway and train noise: Some cabin locations experience traffic sounds. "The train mentioned in another review is a pretty big deal breaker though honestly. The tracks are right next to the wall in spaces. And during my visit on a weekday it was about every 2 hours," warns a camper at Beavertail Hill State Park Campground.

Water conditions: Water service varies by location and season. "Staff provided jugs of water due to the water boil notice, but we would have preferred a discount from the $53 charge for our no water / no electric site," notes a visitor at Ekstrom's Stage Station.

Road access considerations: Access to more remote cabins requires preparation. "Trip in was easy enough, road was slightly rutted, but nothing intolerable. A couple bunk beds were in the cabin, and it was definitely warm enough to survive," explains a visitor about Douglas Creek Cabin.

    Tips for camping with families

Recreation options: Multiple cabin locations provide family-oriented activities. "It has large spaces and nice walking area. It is nice that the owners have intentionally kept prices down too," observes a camper about Bernie & Sharon's Riverfront RV Park.

Playground access: Kid-friendly facilities enhance family stays. "There are a couple extra vehicle parking areas too. Creek side sites are better, but sites 7 and 8 seem to be the largest," mentions a visitor about Flint Creek Campground.

Cabin selection: Consider layout when traveling with children. "This campground is small but offers rv sites, cabins, teepees and covered wagons. So far on our month long trip (two weeks in) this is our family favorite!" shares a family staying at Boulder Creek Lodge.

    Tips from RVers

Site size variations: RV sites differ significantly across locations. "We have a 40' w/tow and opted for a pull thru for 1 night. Sharon stops by and takes your payment, and checks on if you need anything!" notes an RVer about Bernie & Sharon's Riverfront RV Park.

Hookup availability: Electrical services vary by location. "We were driving an electric car (Tesla) and were told that we could use the 30 amp to recharge it at no extra costs. At less than 40$ for a site with 30 amp this was a steal compare to what we paid at other campgrounds," comments a visitor.

Year-round considerations: Winter access varies for cabin rentals. "Well run, clean campground with lots of pull through sites with full hook ups. Efficiently run. Check in was quick and easy with a golf cart escort to my site," reports an off-season RV traveler at The Inn at Philipsburg.
