    Overview

    North Abutment Campground is located on the north end of Grenada Dam on Grenada Lake. The campground is an excellent destination for boating and fishing. The region is steeped in history, with an array of civil war landmarks. In summer, Grenada Lake is home to the annual Thunder on Water Safe Boating Festival. Featured events include concerts, a youth fishing rodeo, tractor pull and fireworks display.

    Recreation

    In addition to general lake activities like boating, fishing, picnicking and sailing, the region boasts a sports complex, baseball fields, an 18-hole golf course and a fitness trail.

    Facilities

    This modern campground is equipped with 88 RV site pads, each with a parking apron and 50 amp electric and water hookups and campsites #2-88 are equipped with sewer hookups. All sites are reservable thru recreation.gov. The lake is accessible via nearby boat ramps, found just outside of the campground. The campground also has an amphitheater in Phase 1.

    Natural Features

    The campground is on the north shore of Grenada Lake. Several campsites face the water May through August, but the water level is dropped for water storage in winter, making the shoreline as far as a mile from the campground. Within the campground there is a small 17 acre lake that has a swimming beach and is stocked with Bream, Largemouth Bass, and Catfish for the campers to enjoy catching. Grenada Lake is on the Yalobusha and Skuna Rivers in Mississippi. The man-made lake has about 148 miles of shoreline and holds 35,820 acres of water.

    Puskus Lake Recreation Area is a fairly remote area for those who do not like the big crowds and do not need modern conveniences. The visitor will discover a pleasant and quiet environment. This recreation area surrounds a 96 acre lake stocked with largemouth bass and bluegill with occasional crappie or catfish. Facilities include 19 campsites, 13 picnic sites, boat ramp, fishing piers, and a 1-mile hiking trail. Puskus Lake Recreation Area is open year-round unless weather conditions require the area to be closed. Puskus is a fee area and the fee station is located just beyond the entrance gate. No attendant will be on duty. Therefore, users should make sure that they have correct currency before arriving at the recreation area.

    Wall Doxey State Park offers 64 developed camp sites, 18 wooded primitive camp sites, 9 cabins, and 1 cottage. Group Camp facility that can accommodate up to 104 campers. A laundry facility is available for campers.

    Wall Doxey's 64 sites available for developed camping feature picnic tables, grills, and water and electrical hook-ups. Bathhouses with hot showers and a central sewage dumping station are located in the developed camping area. All campsites are reservable up to 24-months in advance and are strongly recommended. Monthly camping may be available. Please check with the park office for availability.

    Eighteen wooded sites are available for tent camping. Water, restrooms, and showers are located within walking distance of the primitive camping area.

    Wall Doxey State Park offers an abundance of outdoor recreation opportunities in a setting rich in natural beauty.
