Hugh White State Park Campground

Where the Yalobusha River flows below Grenada Dam, Hugh White State Park Campground occupies a mix of grassy sites and areas prone to seasonal flooding. The campground operates year-round with basic amenities including drinking water spigots, restrooms, and a dump station, though individual sites lack electrical hookups. Big rigs can access the property, and cellular service reaches most areas.

Many sites face the river channel, which carries a strong current below the dam structure. CJ W. notes the water flow is "definitely not for swimming, but an okay view." Shaded spots exist throughout the campground, with some sites featuring natural privacy barriers from surrounding vegetation. A playground serves families with children.

Maintenance levels vary across different sections of the campground. Some sites sit in flood-prone areas, while others along the spillway channel offer better conditions. The honor-system payment operates at $10 per night for primitive sites, with restroom facilities including showers located within walking distance. Pets are not permitted at this location.

Campers seeking additional options can explore camping areas around Grenada or consider nearby Eagle Point Primitive Campground for a different setting within the same park system.

A basic state park campground with affordable primitive sites at $10/night. Several guests noted the beautiful water views and decent facilities, though flooding issues affect some sites.

Great views!

This is a nice little campground, and really beautiful views of the water if you can get along the water. The sites are nice and grassy, and a lot of the sites have privacy bushes and things of that nature. There's no amenities at each campsite, like electric, but there are water spigots throughout the camp. Good cell service, and very quiet.

Not kept up

This campground does not appear to be maintained. Many sites are in an area that is subject to flooding. There are a handful of sites along the spillway channel that are decent, but I wouldn’t stay here unless I was able to get one of those sites. Unfortunately, this is another disappointing Mississippi State Park.

Good family campground

Many of the sites are shaded and face the river. This water flow is after the dam, so has a very strong current. Definitely not for swimming, but an okay view. Playgrounds available for the kids.
