Possible Closure for Murray Bay and Tombolo -- Please be aware that sites and trails in the Murray Bay and the Tombolo area (Driftwood, Little Duck, Duck Lake, Little Dune 1 and 2, Murray Bay Group Site, Bermuda, and Loon Call) may be closed for a "prescribed burn." Prescribed burns are the controlled application of fire by a team of fire experts to restore health to ecosystems that depend on fire. These prescribed burns are done under specific weather conditions and involve careful research, planning, and consultation. We do not yet have a date set for the prescribed burn and there is a chance it will not happen depending on ground and weather conditions. If the prescribed burn does happen, we will notify everyone and issue a full refund. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Bear Alert: Due to recent Bear Activity, Game Fence, Hardwood, and Hemlock campsites are closed. We will restore current reservations to those campsites when the situation is resolved. There also some bear activity on the North side of the Grand Island around the North Beach Area, please visit our agency website for bear safety tips and additional information. We are sorry for any inconvience this is causing for your vacation plans, but health and safety is our main priority. Thank you!

Lake Superior Paradise

Excellent back pack camping. No electricity, no plumbing.. just nature. I suggest Murray Bay group site. Excellent location with your own small beach. Bring a bike for travel, see all the lakes, greenery and you must visit waterfall beach. Great camper toilets, but bring TP.

Love this island, 3rd year back!
