    Cave Park

    Primitive Camping next to River

Cave Park is a shady city park with no utilities. Cave Park has a public access point that allows the public to put kayaks and boats into the river. This also is a favorite fishing spot for locals. Cave Park does allow primitive camping at no cost for one night only. There are playground equipment and several pavillons.

Bluestem Point Area — El Dorado State Park

    Actually stayed at Bemis CG

We actually camped at Bemis Campground about a mile and a half south of this campground. Right off of the main road. There was about 15 or 20 spaces all with electric. I believe there was vault toilets only but no dump station. We had to come up to the blue stem area to dump. Nice little campground right on the lake but downside was that it was right next to the road so a little bit of traffic noise and not really any place to hike or walk. Spaces were fairly level and nicely spaced apart. Probably would recommend taking a back in spot rather than a pull through spot as the pull through were all pretty small and had no shade.

4 mile Creek RV Resort and Campground

    Bicycle/Camping Overnight

Nice grassy area with nice showers and restrooms. Medium size pond with a small pavillon and large grill. Dock needs maintenance. Some long term residents. Rough gravel roads two miles into and out of property, but only about 2 miles south of Hwy 400

    Better than Bluestem

Finally we found a campsite in Old Oak. Beautiful setting. Showers/toilets were were better than the archaic ones in Bluestem that have no roofs, but barely. Broken soap dispensers, cold water, no privacy in showers, etc.

    Napawalla Park

    Easy Peasy

Simple but nice park with decent amenities. Water (in March), Electricity and city WiFi. Playground, disc golf, shelters, basket ball court. Self pay box at $15.00. No picnic tables or individual fire pits but sweet for an overnight.

    Deer Grove RV Park

Very friendly and helpful staff! Well maintained park!

The park was clean and friendly.  I loved the dog park so I could let my pups run free.  The laundry facility was very helpful so i didnt have to travel to find one.  There was free wifi in the park as well, which my kids loved.  There is a very pretty pond area on the property, with very nice walking trails.  Wichita, KS is very close by with lots of fun things to do.  Enjoyed my time there, will def stay there again if back in the area!

    Good for an overnight stay

This is a small, older campground. It is clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We probably are a little late in the season, not real busy (early November). Hookups all work, no problems. Sites are gravel and maybe a little rutted, some more gravel would help level things up. I don’t know exactly how KOA differentiates between Holidays and Journeys but this seems more like other Journeys we’ve stayed at.

    Awesome find!

What a beautiful, peaceful place! Toilets, fire pits, picnic tables, and dumpsters for trash on site. We had the whole place to ourselves! Easy to get off from Rt 400. Sites pretty level. Glad we found this place! Great view of the lake!

    Walnut River RV Park

Arkansas City Walnut River City Park

Walnut River RV Park is a city park next to the river with a few shade trees. Complete with boat ramp and terribly stinky bathroom. No electric outlets. No showers.

    Lake Ponca Campgrounds

Beautiful little campsite overlooking the water

New restrooms/showers and electric RV sites with shared water for $25. Park RV on asphalt facing campsite. Tent camping area is $15 has picnic tables but no electricity or water and restrooms/showers are on other side of campground. Signs everywhere saying “No tent camping in this area.” But if you pay online for RV site, you can use tent or RV but not both (per Ranger Joe).

    Cherokee Strip Campground

Mature campsite for RVs and Tents

Electric, water, restrooms and coin-operated showers. Located on the highway so there is highway noise but plenty of shade trees. Small convenience snack store next door. Needs some repairs and newer picnic tables but better than many places.

    Whitehall Bay

    A little unknown gem

It's absolutely beautiful. I camp here often because of the serenity. The best part of Whitehall Bay is the sewer is directly at your campsite, so no dumping afterwards. A big plus for me!!! Camp Hosts are awesome. You won't be disappointed

    Great stay

Super nice view and platform. Panicked when the couple with two kids parked behind me. Oh, the yelling. I guess the tension was too much because thankfully they left and never came back. 😂 Other than that terrifying sh** show, I had an absolutely beautiful night. The weather was perfect, and that view was 🔥.

I didn’t use the showers or bathrooms.

    Lovely campground

The campground seems to have lots of room. It’s on the water and beautiful although on the site Recreation.gov, it says you cannot reserve a spot. It’s first come first serve there were several spots 18.00 per night includes electric and water.

Quarry Bay Campground — Fall River State Park

    Great, relaxing location!

We stayed in mid-October and while chilly, we had an amazing time. We chose the Quarry Bay Area, which is located on the far side of the dam from the rest of the park. It's about a 5-6 minute drive back to the main park area which is were you'll need to pay fees, but in our opinion, very much worth the drive for the seclusion. The spaces on this side of the park are very spread out and create a lot of privacy. 6 of the sites in this area (401-406) have 'mushroom' shelters that provided a nice area to prep food and escape a brief rain shower. Our location (site 405) also provided direct access to the Cat Claw trail head, was near the end of a dead-end road, and had great views of the lake framed in by a very well kept grassy area and mature trees. Cell service on Verizon was consistent, allowing basic web browsing and social media, but loading video was spotty at best. T-mobile service was a step down from Verizon and varied between 1 bar and no-service based on where you sat at the site. Not a big deal for us as we were there largely to disconnect, but if you need to entertain kids, make sure you download content before leaving home! We had a wonderful time and look forward to returning again!

    Quiet and beautiful

I love this place. There are even locals that camp out here and are fun and friendly. Sometimes they will even start playing music and encourage to even jump in or just sit and listen.
