What you should know
Seasonal flooding: Some campgrounds near Cedar River experience periodic flooding. At Saulsbury Bridge Recreation Area, flooding can limit access to primitive sites and river campgrounds during wet periods.
Train noise: Campers at Shady Creek should expect occasional train noise. "Only negative was that there is a train track real close and a lot of crosses, So you will hear alot of close train horns and they go deep into the night/morning," warns David D.

Site selection: At West Overlook Campground, RVers can choose between lakeside or wooded sites. "Some of the loops are close to the lake or in various heights overlooking the lake, some loops are tucked into beautiful shady woods further inland," explains Janet R.
Leveling requirements: Most RV sites at Shady Creek feature level concrete pads. "Level poured pad for RV, electric and nice fire pits. Large sites. Clean restrooms and lots of hot water for Shower," reports Kathy J.
Hookup availability: Cedar River Campground provides full hookups with varying site spacing. "Not our typical campsite but we had the kids down for the weekend and we thought a campsite with a pool and mini golf would be a fun break from the norm. Sites are really close if you're a tent camper but it is good as far as RV parks are concerned," notes Steve T.
