"In the morning they offer FREE waffles, so after packing up the car, we enjoyed breakfast before heading over to the National Monument," shares Bobby B. Temperature fluctuations: The region experiences significant daily temperature swings. "Plan your visit for spring or fall, because this area can get HOT in the summer. In mid-September, we started our days in down jackets, but warmed into the low eighties by afternoon," advises Gary M.

Kid-friendly activities: Several campgrounds include recreational facilities. "Kids love all the games mini golf, gaga ball and toys. We enjoyed the wildlife and hearing and seeing a huge owl outside our camp was a great touch," shares Kathe M.
Swimming opportunities: Mackay Tourist Park provides access to nearby water recreation. "If you show up in the summer you get amazing weather and incredible fishing. Would 10/10 recommend to anybody," explains Michael A.

Arrival timing: Wagon Wheel Motel & RV Park accommodates late check-ins. "I was a little stressed out because I was driving quite a distance and wasn't sure if I was gonna make the cut off time but I did and they were supernice superfriendly," shares Stacey A.
Weather preparation: Cabins with air conditioning may need time to cool. "The only thing is it took a while for the room to cool down it would have been cool if they were able to set that air conditioner about an hour before arrival," adds Stacey A.
