Thousand Trails Russian River

Second time here. Just car camping at a tent spot for the night. On my way home to Seattle. Showers and restrooms and laundry. Plus the beautiful Russian River.

This is a rustic park with no sewer hookups, so you need to bring a sewer caddy, and also, they have laundry onsite. They are remodeling and repairing and it is coming along very nicely.

Place is quiet at night, but seems run down. They are going to assign sights which is what I don’t like in most camp grounds. I like the A section and it not being a choice anymore is my last time here.

I am reasonably ok at backing in my travel trailer but this place is a mess. I parked in wrong spot, moved to the right one, the power pedestal did not work. Had to walk to office because phone number on check-in sheet did not work. Camp worker in golf cart picked me up and checked pedestal. No good. Drove me around looking for another site but the camp side on most is terrible. My wife has mobility issues so I would not stay here again. Staff was great, area looks nice, but the sites I saw leave something to be desired.

Sites are close. Some don’t even have area for chairs or picnic tables. It’s a membership campground which is surprising. Hopefully this is not the norm for other Thousand trails campgrounds.

This was a Great location in Sonoma county The campground itself is not the greatest it's very limited they do have a honey pot service but no sewer service. There's the Russian River and not much else to do but the surrounding area is fantastic you not far from San Francisco or Napa. There's no laundry room you have to go to a laundromat they have washer and dryers outside of the bathrooms but they're not very convenient

We absolutely love thousand trails and our membership this is not one of their best campgrounds however the staff was five star and so is the location so I gave it a three star. We chose to stay three months. No sewer but they do have a dumping station and a honey pot service for $35 so we took advantage of that

Nice sites. Older campground so facilities are old but clean and full functional. Of course I had to visit during a heat wave.

Meh…

I had high hopes for this place, but overall, I’m unimpressed.

The good: Park staff is very responsive. Very close to the 101 with no highway nose.

The bad: No reservations. It is first come, first served. Poison Oak EVERYWHERE. No designated pet areas. Very tightly packed with no privacy. Hot with very little shade. Bathrooms are old, outdated, full of cobwebs and dirt. Low water pressure and n the showers.

THis place is clean abd has a general store that has pretty much anything you could need. Pitched a tent on the river- not many tents though this is more for rvs. Has horse shoes and other family games.

River near by, nice swimming hole in October if you were willing to walk over a lot of rocks. Not sure what the river would be like in spring. Nice play ground for kids. Some sites super crowded others have a little more room. Take your time finding the right spot for you. Staff okay. Little pricey and snobby.

Awesome spot. A little tight and on top of each other. Location to the river/ creek is great.
