Poppy Hike-in Boat-in Campground

Boat and foot access only makes Poppy Hike-in Boat-in Campground a backcountry option within Tahoe National Forest near Foresthill. The US Forest Service manages this established site, which requires campers to either hike in with their gear or arrive by watercraft. French Meadows Reservoir provides the water access point for boaters, while hiking trails connect the campground to the broader trail system. The remote access keeps visitor numbers lower than drive-in campgrounds. French Meadows sits less than a mile southeast for those preferring vehicle access to the same general area.
