      Perfect Retreat

The property was perfect. We had originally booked the electric yurt but we were able to upgrade to the container home upon arrival. The home was perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs. Ryan was very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be back.

      This is Indian cove campground

The coordinates given to this area is for Indian cove campground. There are no first come first serve spots. We drove from Utah thinking we could get a spot. Turns out you have to have reservations months in advance. Not sure where anyone seen fcfs but i didn’t see here, or on the Recreation.gov site. Looked really nice and would love to visit here another time.

Nestled into rocks, surrounded by Joshua trees

We got lucky enough to find a FCFS spot that was away from other groups and in between some big rocks. Great spot with nice amenities

      Joshua Tree Campground, CA

Located right in Joshua Tree National Park. The campground itself is several miles from the entrance. It’s first come first serve, but the spots fill up quick and are usually claimed by mid-morning. The sites are small and are used by mainly tent campers, vans and tear drop sized rigs. Do not attempt to drive anything larger into the park, you will have a hard time turning around. The park is stunning! The jumbo rocks and Joshua trees provide a gorgeous landscape that can be explored for days!

      Never disappointed

Highly recommend you experience Joshua Tree at least once; during the cooler seasons and that is what we do. This place never ceases to amaze me. Beyond grateful and thankful for such beauty this place has to offer. Each site and every trail offer something unique. I always leave with a sense fulfillment.

      Desert Blast

Joshua tree is an excellent campground except there is no running water at this park. Make sure you get to the outhouse early in the morning or you’ll be forced to endure the stench of other campers waste. Lots of good hiking trails and rock formations if you’re into climbing. Be mindful of hot temps during summer months

Scenery and size of spaces is awesome

The size of the spaces is great, the scenery even better. People have not been kind to the Joshua Tree area and the trail markers are confusing. However the scenery more than makes up for it.

      Wilderness Camping

There is nothing but you, the heat, the rocks, cactus and snakes... yes, snakes! Snakes were everywhere. This is a great place if you are interested in rock hounding, hiking or off roading, nothing else beyond that. Beautiful cactus and desert critters crawling about. But if you are not accustomed to heat and desert sunlight, be sure to wear plenty of protection as the Summer months can be brutal. While we were exploring we came across old military tanks to our surprise! Theres no fee to camp in the undeveloped campsite areas. There is no water, no trash, or restrooms available and no local cities nearby. I would recommend planning thoroughly and accordingly, depending on your needs for travel.

      Joshua Tree Campground

      Incredible High Desert Place

We have camped at Joshua Tree National Park on multiple occasions. This is a very special place never gets old. We lived in San Diego at the time and this made for a nice weekend trip to Palm Springs and then Joshua. You will need to plan ahead and make reservations or come in the off season to get a camping spot. The park is so close to major populations in Southern California it is always crowded. The tent camping sites are close together but adequate. You can get nestled up against the rocks which will help manage the desert sun and winter winds. The trees and rock formations are incredible. They have some historical elements but the towering rocks and desert vistas are the highlight here. Wow, what a place. The camps have pit toilets and you can fill up your water containers. The biggest challenge here is managing the large crowds and the weather. It can be very cold in the winter nights and baking hot in the summer. Late Spring or Fall are the best times to visit. You can get supplies at on the road near the park. This is a bucket list park and a must see.

      Beautiful Desert Experience

Camping at Joshua Tree exceeded all expectations. We did not have a permit before arriving, however a group was leaving their campsite for the weekend and offered us their permit for the remaining days. We shared the campsite with two other campers who were lovely!

Joshua Tree is full of boulders to climb and trails to explore. Expect warm days and cold evenings with some of the brightest stars you'll ever see.

      Like a different planet

Joshua Tree is a marvel. It is like a different planet that you are exploring. A friend and I decided to drive to Joshua one weekend because we had always wanted to go check it out. The Joshua Trees of Yucca Brevifolia have always amazed me and are what the park is known for. When we arrived we immediately did a long hike in the sun at mid-day. Now this would have been a good idea if we had brought enough water. Hiking in the desert is NO JOKE so please go prepared!

It definitely lived up to our expectations. We did another hike called 49 palms, to this little oasis in the middle of dirt and sand. It was totally incredible to see all of these green desert palm trees emerge after hiking in the desert. Be careful though... there are rattle snakes in rock crevasses!!

A bit of a drive, but a fantastic time!

A group of college friends and myself stayed right outside of Joshua Tree and camped for a few nights. Although it was a bit chilly, I had the best sleep of my life, and was able to sleep right under the stars on crash pads, no tents! We went climbing and hiking, and was truly a great trip!
