Great location for fishing

Six of us went and got 2 campsites, 27 & 28. Very roomy and lots of shade. Other sites have varying degrees of shade from good to none. Fishing was fantastic with both flies and lures. Bathrooms nearest camp host are much nicer than the others. Hosts were extremely nice. Price was just $12/night with national parks pass. Tons of free firewood from downed trees in area

Quiet spot for stargazing

I arrived late on a Thursday night in early June and there were a few RVs occupying the primo sites next to the river, but plenty of open sites further from the river. Many of the RVs had fishing gear...I don't fish, but guessing this might be a good spot to cast a line. There is a mix of tree cover and open meadow areas - I setup in the meadow and had enjoyed great stargazing. The place was clean and the hand-pumped well water was great.  I was hoping to take a swim but this section of the Stanislaus river is surprisingly raging! I didn't get a chance to explore much because I only stayed one night on my way to Mammoth Lakes.

Next to the Stanislaus River

Love this campground because of it’s close proximity to the Stanislaus River. There are 28 first come first serve RV and Tent sites. There are interesting granite rock formations in and around the campground. Potable water, fire rings, picnic tables and garbage receptacles round out the amenities.

Nice and quiet and beautiful under the moonlight

We came here because Dardanelle was closed down and we are absolutely grateful for that. This quiet piece of gem sits next to the river which shone so beautiful under the silky moonlight. It is clean and well maintained.
