CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Ameri-Can Trails RV Park offers accessible camping for horses near Parker, Arizona, with pets allowed at all sites. The RV park features full hookups including electric, water, and sewer connections that accommodate large rigs. The gravel roads and spaces provide stable ground for horses and trailers, though no dedicated horse corrals are present. Campers must bring portable corrals or tethering systems for their equines. The nearby Patton's Pad dispersed camping area provides a free alternative with ample space for horses and rigs on its large concrete pad measuring approximately 150 by 350 yards. The park maintains a clean environment with baby rabbits frequently seen at dusk.

Located about 19 miles from the nearest fuel station, Patton's Pad requires campers to bring all necessary supplies for both humans and horses. The area's historical significance as a WWII training ground under General George Patton adds interest for history enthusiasts who bring horses to explore the desert terrain. The wide open spaces offer excellent stargazing opportunities after day rides. Highway noise remains minimal, making it suitable for horses sensitive to traffic sounds. Neither location provides on-site water sources for horses, so equestrians must transport sufficient water for their animals. The desert environment demands careful planning for equestrian visitors, particularly during warmer seasons when temperatures can rise significantly.

    Patton's Pad

    Good Overnight Spot

Good flat spot to spend the night on the way to another destination. There’s some light noise from the highway but otherwise a decent spot.

    Patton's Pad

    Visit from Maverick

Straight shot access gravel-sand road to the concrete pad. In good shape enough to feel my AWD cargo van could do it. Beware Giant Osprey's flying over at night and landing in the daytime. I was paid a visit and told to use the corners of the concrete pad only as they might land on me! Beautiful location for sky viewing and photography.

    Kofa Queen Canyon

    Super Quiet / Outstanding Views

Wide open desert and Mountain View’s with a wide variety of desert vegetation including thousands of Teddy Bear Cactus. Keep your dog on a leash you don’t want them near those.

Spent a week here in complete solitude. I can see other campers in the area but they’re at least a half mile away or more.

Some ATV traffic during the day headed to Kofa Queen Canyon but they are courteous enough so go slow by my site.

The rules are pretty much don’t camp more than 100’ from an existing Rd.

The sunsets and sunrises are phenomenal and I would definitely stay here again. This is true boondocking and I loved it.

    Ameri-Can Trails RV Park

    Rv park is ok.

Very nice host. Good hookups. Electric, water, sewer. I’m from out East. First impression was. Nice gravel parking lot with hookups.
Nice new pool but not heated. Was told it was suppose to be but wrong line was installed. Free WiFi. the WiFi signal is strong but the routers are in serious trouble. Frequently drop internet and frequently drop you off the WiFi and won’t let you back on with error. Says wrong password. Management aware and not interested in fixing. If you want WiFi, don’t come here.

No tv signal available over your rv rig antenna. Gotta get a mast and extend up another 20 feet higher to get any tv. Since WiFi sucks, can’t stream. Bring satellite if you got it. No cable available but I’m thinking no cable is available in quartzite anywhere.

Very strong Verizon cell signal. Data & streaming over Verizon is far superior to WiFi.

    Ameri-Can Trails RV Park

    Good for overnight.

Full hookup. Gravel road and spaces. They are trying to spruce up the place. Planting shrubs. This was a stop over on our way to Deadhorse Ranch. Quiet park. Reasonable prices. WiFi not good, Verizon has good signal. Had a pool, but we didn't use it.

    Patton's Pad

    Wide Open Spaces

The cement pad is about 150 yards wide and about 350 yards long. We got here as the sun was coming down. It was windy and warm but not too bad considering that this is the desert. There is absolutely nothing out here. You’ll have to bring your own shade. Nearest fuel station is 19 miles away.

I enjoyed it because it was just clean and the night sky was clear. Great for stargazing.

There is the historical side of it. It’s amazing that Patton trained out here. Over a million troops trained in the area.

    Patton's Pad

    Historical

It was really cool to come here and see a part of WWII. There’s not much to see, it is all completely flat dessert. It’s more of an emotional experience than anything. Highly recommend.
