Best Glamping in Alaska

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Tolsona Wilderness Campground and South Rolly Lake Campground house upscale glamping accommodations across Alaska, blending luxury with wilderness immersion. Tolsona features climate-controlled yurts with plush bedding, electricity, and private decks overlooking the surrounding forest. South Rolly offers safari-style canvas tents with raised platforms, comfortable queen beds with linens, and solar-powered lighting systems. Both locations provide access to hot showers, clean restrooms, and fire pits with complimentary firewood. The campgrounds maintain a boutique camping atmosphere with limited sites to ensure privacy and personalized service. On-site camp stores stock local provisions, specialty foods, and essential glamping supplies. A visitor noted, "Perfect place to camp with beautiful waterfall and green noises—a tiny but beautiful spot."

Hiking trails from Tolsona Wilderness lead directly to pristine fishing spots and wildlife viewing areas where guests frequently spot moose, eagles, and occasionally bears from safe distances. South Rolly's lakefront location enables kayaking, paddleboarding, and fishing with rental equipment available on-site. Winter glamping includes heated accommodations with special aurora viewing platforms and guided snowshoe excursions. According to a camper, "The spots are secluded from others, with fire pit and picnic table, plus easy to find with good views." Wellness options include outdoor yoga sessions and massage services by appointment. Most glamping sites operate from May through September, though select winterized accommodations remain available year-round. Reservations typically open three months in advance, with premium waterfront units booking quickly during summer months.

Drop Anchor Seaview Glamping Homer Alaska

Seaview/Glacier Luxury Glamping Huge Bell Canvas Tent Rental on Bike Trail

Host Mel, she and her family micro mini farm glamping rentals are amazing. Mel has some fabulous,  AK born and raised 3rd generation, stories, she shared with us. she could write a book about her life.

She's taking over her a 1950's log cabin property her family owns and she grew up in. Her family are developing a micro mini farm / garden for her children, she's set up these amazingly gorgeous huge bell tent rentals, is refurbishing an old popup camper to rent, built an outdoor Bath House Hot Shower, has a Common Area inside a building she's still remodeling but is still fabulous, we LOVED having indoor flush toilets, All the cooking amenities you could possibly think of needing but not need to bring yourself, from pots and pans, to all dish ware to prepare your meals and to eat them on dishware sets. there's a fridge, wall shelves FULL of Books, Games, etc. two large tables to eat indoors and leather couch to relax and socialize space in, it has a huge deck all views of ocean and glaciers from every spot on her little acre property. The Bike Trail is literally out front of her property, abd it’s maybe a 3-5 minute bike ride to the middle of downtown/shops/restaurants, art galleys, Breweries etc. our family enjoyed having the in town convenience. no one in our group had any issues sleeping in tents, fully furnished like a fancy hotel room, and are super tall tent, they’re on a huge deck Host Mel build herself from reclaimed wood,

we had our own wood fire pit with bbq grill and picnic table with an umbrella, Adirondack chairs,

BEST nights sleep ever while "Camping"

Warm Down Comforters, soft beddings and pillows, extra blankets, bright lanterns and lighting, recharging stations.

The tents have 1 or 2 queen beds, kids had thick sleep mats, a baby bed,

one night was chilly the tent heaters only took 2 minutes to warm up the tents.

Host Mel warned us, all we would need to bring was our selves, clothes and actual food we wanted to cook and eat and boy was she right!,

firepits are also set up as camp cooking bbq  fire pits, or we could use the Common Area outside to cook on the covered Propane Grill area with tons of more eating and seating space, and a propane fire pit with comfortable seating, the kids played on their super cool refurbished Fort Play,  area for hours, a sand box, slides,

Their mini farm, the kids got to collect fresh Duck and Chicken eggs for breakfast, she has a breakfast/coffee/tea/hot cocoa complimentary set up with cereals, and different mix of foods and beverages to help ourselves to.

What a wonderful experience. We will be coming back

    Montana Creek Campground

    Highways and Sun Rays

This is a great place to fish and play but it is located right next to the Parks Highway which can be loud and busy with tourists and semis in the summer. If you’re sleeping in a camper the noise might not be so bad but the Alaska Highway doesn’t have a quiet hour.

    Miller's Landing

    Enchanting, Alaskan, Awesome

We absolutely love Miller’s Landing campground! It offers the best of feeling like you’re in a tall wooded forest as well as being right on the ocean! I always feel like I’m in an enchanted forest. The office building that you check into offers a seating area you can sit in and enjoy a cup of coffee if it’s raining, or if you need to escape the sun! They also have an awesome covered back deck that overlooks resurrection bay. Rocking chairs and views are a great combination! Campsites for tents are spacious and the running water bathrooms are cleaned daily. Charters and kayak tours go in and out daily. Always fun to beach comb and explore tide pools when the tide is out! Also, sunsets ( when the sun goes down here in Alaska) are breathtaking! Dogs are allowed. Highly recommend this camp ground!

    Great Family Park

We booked a one night stay here as a trial run with our brand new travel trailer. Our daughter loved it so much that she begged to stay another night. Luck was on our side as there was a last minute cancellation and we were able to extend our stay 1 more night. The park had helpful and friendly staff, clean bathrooms, a nice laundry facility, and even a playground with a communal pavilion for people to gather round together. We would stay here again. There was a bit of road noise from the nearby highway but our family wasn't bothered at all by it as we are used to living on a base with lots of jet noise. Pet friendly and Wi-Fi is available and free! Propane, water fill, and dump station are available at this park.

    Kennicott Riverside Campground

    Primitive & Secluded

This campground is only suitable for those with their own transportation as it is a considerable drive from the footbridge, but the trek is worth it. Nice level tent sites near the river with a picnic table and stone fire ring. Outhouse and showers are a short walk away. Guides for river rafting trips live in walled tents nearby if you need anything. Breeze near the river keeps insects at bay and some greenery between sites provide privacy. A nice place to camp away from the hubbub at the end of the road.

    Seward Military Resort

Great end to a wonderful trip

Seward Military Resort was out last campground of our 8 night trip. We used the resort to set up our tent and venture out into Seward to go ice climbing on the nearby Exit Glacier (pictures and video below). The site is on the small side and really close to one other tent site and the yurts. No mosquitoes, people adhere to quiet hours, and it's close to a wealth of activities in Seward.
