Cozy Country Comfort & Prehistoric Playtime

This roadside Cracker Barrel just off I95 near Kenosha delivered an EZ, approachable overnight pitstop with a spacious, mostly level lot and that familiar glow of porch lights and wooden rockers welcoming us in after a full family day on the road. Earlier, we took the boys to the Dinosaur Discovery Museum where their eyes lit up at towering fossils and hands-on exhibits, then wrapped up the evening with a relaxed, homey dinner at Mad Rooster Cafe, savoring hearty plates and the kind of comfort food that makes everyone happy and full. Back at the lot, the atmosphere was calm albeit with non-stop whirring of highway traffic, but we felt perfectly at ease settling in for the night. The only downside to this place is it's location is right next to I94, so bring ear plugs! The boys drifted off chatting about T-Rexes and ‘giant bones,’ while we tucked in for a movie. I’d absolutely recommend this stop for families for its welcoming vibe, nearby kid-friendly attractions and a safe, predictable place to rest your head.
