    "Camp Creek State Park West Virginia. This was a drive through, we didn't camp here. This State Park is only 2 miles from I- 77! Exit 20. 

    This is a hiking park & also has horse trails.

    Holly River State Park Campground

    It's a beautiful, clean place with incredible staff

    This review is for the primitive boondockers like myself. It's a very established campground, full amenities, restaurant, gift shop, the works. I thought we would find a primitive campground with much more privacy based on the details and reviews of the grounds. The primitive camping spots are all in view of each other down a long stretch of dirt road. They're very clean and come with trash cans at each sight, which was nice. We were the only tent campers so it was enjoyable, but I don't know if I would have had the same experience if there were a lot of campers. I think that's a very important and left out detail about this location for the people who enjoy a more private environment. I'm still very happy with my stay, and the staff is absolutely WONDERFUL. They're all so kind and went out of their way to provide us with information when we had questions they didn't know the answer to, everyone who works there is a delight. 25$ a night felt a little much to sleep in our tent, but the showers, clean bathrooms, and care put into the property made it worth it. Waterfalls nearby as well. I'd stay again.

    Gandy Creek Dispersed Camping

    White noise of the creek

    Overnight tent camping with my dog. Saw a raccoon in a tree. So private and peaceful. The water and wind at night made for a nice relaxing sleep. Plenty of trails to explore.

    East Fork Campground and Horse Stables

    East Fork Campgrounds is highly recommended.

    We were there for a short time Arriving on Aug. 17th.  Our trip plan was to see the steam engine trains.

    Camp grounds was very clean and well kept. The sites were grass with gravel pads where the camper was placed.  We plan to come back again and stay longer.  There are a lot of places to visit and enjoy the area site seeing.  

    The manager was very accommodating. We had a problem with a water line.  The manager came over and helped us find parts and repair the water line.

    Mash Fork Campground — Camp Creek State Park

    Peaceful By Creek

    I loved my experience. I got spot 6 which back right next to a creek. It was really peaceful. The shower facilities were clean though did smell a bit like mildew. There was no signal in the park itself but signal really close by incase of emergency.

    Holly River State Park Campground

    Don’t take the short trip in

    Don’t follow the shortest trip using GPS it’ll take you on an old goat path to get here. But back to the campground it’s a really good location. Very very rural out in the middle of nowhere campsites are spaced. Adequately with plenty of shade several small playgrounds in each loop for the kids very quiet family oriented place. This place is so far out in the middle of nowhere they have to pipe the sunshine in.

    Camp Creek State Park Campground

    Nice and quiet campground

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Camp Creek State Park Campground. We had an electric only site along the creek, but they have sites with electric and water and sites with full hookup. It was level and we liked hearing the small creek flowing. We found several good places to hike with access in the campground and two nice waterfalls. The campground was not accessible the Camp Creek Road turnoff from I-77 because the exit was closed coming from the south for roadwork. Therefore, we had to get off near Princeton and the road was quite curvy and slow going for about 15 miles. Going back south was no problem getting on I-77. Hopefully the road work will be completed soon. We enjoyed enough that we would go back again, especially as a stop over on a longer trip.

    Mountwood Park Family Campground(Wood County Park)

    Almost empty

    This was a gem of a park to find. There is hardly anyone here and you have your pick pretty much of the camping spots. The spots are mostly level and there are two bath houses onsite. The bathrooms are pretty basic but they have hot water and so far I’ve had them mostly to myself. And it’s only $30 a night.

    Cranberry River Sites NF Campground

    Another amazing place to camp in West Virginia

    Cranberry River dispersed camping along Forest Road 76 offers quiet, scenic, riverside primitive campsites with excellent fishing and easy access to the surrounding wilderness. We stayed a couple of nights at Site 8 and had great river access with only a small amount of road traffic. There were campers at about five other sites during our stay, but it still felt peaceful and spread out. With inexpensive sites spaced along roughly five miles of road, this is a great area to camp. Roads like this in West Virginia are home to some of my favorite campsites, and we will definitely be back.
