Marginal camping area

This area is more of a photo op than a good dispersed camping area. Road is actually a pvt mining access road. Cell is ok but limited camping...go east and camp at Garden of the Gods instead

We loved our Stay

My fiancé and I spent a night here of our 1 month long roadtrip. Pros: Super Close to Monument valley, friendly staff, clean 24hr facilities, running water. Beautiful view if the stars and planets.

Con: Really close to highway that’s a little noisy but if you’re unbothered by that it’s the…

A drive threw monument valley

After missing out on monument valley on my last Utah trip. I was not gonna miss it this time around. We were able to grab a site day of with no issues. Site was clean and organized, no neighbors around us. Showers were a definite plus! Not to mention the campground wild cats were a riot. Would stay…

Hidden Gem - FREE!

A must stop - we cannot believe this campground is free and so unpopular. There are full service restrooms with a camp sink outside, charcoal grills and picnic tables at each site. Note that fires are not permitted and sites do not have fire rings. We arrived around 5pm on a Monday on our way from…

Most amazing spot near monument valley

Loved waking up to the gorgeous views. Definitely primitive, but loved the seclusion. Host was very friendly. Grill and picnic tables close by. Entire site to ourselves absolutely perfect.

Highly recommend

Gorgeous! Red cliffs on either side of a river valley. There are no facilities, which is fine, and the campsites are a decent size. Most of the road is drivable for a low clearance, FWD vehicle. You can easily see the stars at night.

Magical Experience

Gorgeous views in every direction, and very quiet and peaceful. At night time the moon illuminates the rocks and it almost looks like another world. Best place to camp near blanding/Mexican hat. Will say the road was relatively rough and is not suitable for large rvs and maybe some RWD/low…

Great place for monument Valley

This is Monument Valley Koa. It is fairly new. Gravel roads and sites. Clean and we'll kept. There are new small trees planted, but no shade. The sites are large and the roads are wide. Plenty of room for larger rigs. We had only 1X Verizon service. We could receive and send texts. They have wifi,…

Convenient spot on the Utah loop

We stopped here on our loop of the Utah big 5. Weren't expecting much but it surprised us! There was a nice river and some petroglyphs a short walk away. Water fill and some picnic tables. Spots were of a reasonable size.

There was a boat put in, and it seemed like many people were canoe…

Stunning 360 views

Camped here in May 2021. Absolutely gorgeous. We chose the last spot before going down the hill toward the river and could see Mexican Hat, the river, and a wonderful sunset. There were only two other people camping in the vicinity (it was a Thursday) and they were far away so we had the spot…

Hidden Gem!

Hidden in the middle of red rock canyon this campground was great! Late check-in greeted and led to site by security. Campground was quiet and peaceful. Woke up and saw the splendor of this place! Clean showers and there are plenty. Well kept grounds and great laundry room. They have signs up…

Beautiful spot!

Easy to find, we picked a spot off to the right of Mexican Hat Rock Rd, right at the base of Mexican Hat. Explored more spots accessible via 4WD only on our bikes. We got to our spot with a small camper trailer and we saw a few other cars who found other spots you could get to without 4WD. Really…
