High-elevation camping at 9,000 feet puts Lake Canyon Recreation Area in forested terrain near Cleveland and Huntington reservoirs. The Forest Service campground accommodates RVs up to 50 feet, though campers report steep canyon access that can challenge vehicles and cause overheating on the climb from Fairview. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets available but no water or trash service.
Fishing and four-wheeling draw visitors to the area's multiple reservoirs and surrounding roads. The seasonal operation from early June through late October depends on snowpack, with July and August offering the most reliable access. For additional camping options in the region, see campgrounds near Manti-La Sal National Forest. Pack in all water and plan to pack out trash.
