Fly fishing and kayaking draw most visitors to Holder Cove Campground, where every site sits directly on the river in Cherokee National Forest. Sites are level gravel with a fire ring, lantern pole, and picnic table, and the campground fits tents, small RVs, and teardrops. Vault toilets are on-site, but there is no water or electrical hookups. Cell service is nonexistent here, and the access road is narrow paved, so plan accordingly. Nearby, Tellico River Campgrounds and Big Oak Cove Campground are close alternatives along the same corridor. Note that pets are not permitted. At around $10 per night, bring cash or check payment options in advance, and pack all your own drinking water.
