Good park and campground
The camp host was very helpful and gave us a 50 amp adapter that we needed. The park is queit and beautiful. Lots of trails to hike and lakes to fish or Judy take in the beauty.
James Floyd SP
Easy access to campground. Swing wide to get centered between the fence post and the culvert. Then you are home free. Getting into the sites was easier. They are big, spacious, level gravel and a decent distance apart. Not many folks here during the week. Did not use the bath house or laundry so no comment there. Did take a walk around the lakes and it was very pleasant.

Great staff
Person at office was fantastic. Very helpful with discounts and specials we qualified for. Campground host was very helpful in assisting me to find a part I needed. Very quiet campground that is well maintained with large sites
Great place for camping and hiking
Stayed in Jan. Weather was nice. Good campground for hiking and camping. Would definitely stay again

Clean and Friendly
Park is immaculate and the hosts on the back end of the camping area are absolutely the best. We stayed in campsite number 3 and it was clean and beautifully laid out.
Peaceful and spacious
The sites are gravel and level. They all have a nice seating area or two. Bathrooms are clean and strong, hot water pressure in the showers. Several hiking trails and 2 lakes stocked with fish. We came during the week in the summer and all of the sites were heavily shaded allowing us to enjoy the outdoors in 90+ degree temps. It was also very quiet when we came. In addition to the numerous birds, you only hear an occasional plane overhead, but no cars, etc.

Wonderful place to camp WHEN BUSY
Please for the love of God and all else holy, only ever go if it is BUSY , it was a wonderful campground, everything was fun, day 1, day 2, but then the night of day 3, Sunday night we were the only ones there, and the second we all got out of the car, we all immediately said, we should go home early, we all had a weird feeling we shouldn't be here, we were at site 2, and it stood behind a tree at site 3, we didn't even acknowledge it till we were safely in the car where we all started freaking out saying what we saw, don't go on a full moon, let alone during a eclipse
Nice shady campground on a hill
We have visited Sloppy Floyd twice and would stay again. Nice large spaces, could be more level. Great for families and kids with large playground. Clean bathhouse with$1.50 load laundry. Nice Camp host has been there for years and looks after the kids

Gorgeous, immaculate Campground
We are full time RVers and this place blew us away with all the gorgeous nature, large, private campsites and it’s cleanliness. Cannot recommend enough.

Serene and beautiful
We only stayed one night and were disappointed to have to leave. Gorgeous park, immaculate facilities, and the park manager David was kind enough to meet us at the visitor center after hours and lead us to our site. The site was a well situated pull-through that was private even tho' the park was starting to fill up for the weekend. We visited Paradise Gardens in Summerville, a definite must-see for anyone interested in art and fascinating people. North entrance via 27 seemed like a better access point; we came in from the south, a confusing route with many twists and turns.
Clean, friendly, well-laid out sites
The campground host was very helpful regarding ice and wood, as well as giving tips for hikes. We loved the hike to the marble mine, even if a bit steeper than I had been prepared for! Dog friendly and kid friendly! Would definitely recommend to others.
Small but put together well.
We met out of state friends for a long weekend. Had a great time hiking and catching up. The host was friendly and sites were clean.
Peaceful - Space Between Sights
Did a two night three day tent trip with my grandkids. It was wonderful, clean, and many things to do. Fishing, hiking, walking, smores, and Ice Cream from the camp store.

First camping trip in our new pop up!
Great pull through spots and great playground for kiddos..... very clean!
First RV visit, third visit overall
First, the resident ranger David is extremely friendly and helpful. The entire park and campground is very shady, quiet, and relaxing. You have two lakes to fish or boat on, and several trails to hike. The bath house is very clean with washer and dryer, and your site trash is picked up daily. This is an ideal place to relax and unwind. We will be back.
Awesome!
This campground is so nice! Sites are very spacious and level. The cell coverage is good for AT&T and Verizon so that’s a plus! We have site 19, a pull through and it was great. It faces the woods and was very peaceful. Will definitely go again!
Great quiet park!
Park is very nice with campground, two fishing lakes, and several hiking trails. Campground loop road has a steep entrance turning in from the main road that goes through the park and the campground loop itself is very winding. Most of the sites were fairly level and shaded. Power and water at sites.

Secluded and shaded
This campground offers well-shaded, and secluded sites. Beware of the raccoons. They are very clever. I spent a little time raiding their trash stash.

Our first time camping at Sloppy Floyd state park.
Our first time camping at Sloppy Floyd was nice! It was very quiet. There was mostly older people there so I did feel like I had to keep my kids quiet for the older people around us. There were a few kids there but not many. The comfort station was nice and had showers with a washer and dryer. It was also nice that they had ice and wood you could buy from the campground host. The host was very nice as well and loaned our kids some bicycle helmets for the time we were there. It is a very nice place if you want to get away to somewhere quiet and our campsite was fairly large but we must have not gone when there were many kids. They also offer cabins, fishing, and paddle boat and kayak rentals. If you like hiking there are also a couple of trails. The only downside is they did not offer anywhere to swim. Other than that we had a great time!
Fall fun
Trip taken Nov 2018. Our first trip with our son who was 5 weeks and still sleep and easy. We love this park. We planned ahead and got two good spots with our friends. We braved the cold for a short hike one day and also visited the lake where we tried to feed the ducks. This park is easy to get around, had clean restrooms, and beautiful scenery. Site specific reservations really make it easy too.
Wet Weekend
Visited in February and it was a wet sloppy weekend, LOVED IT ! Of course no water sports due to the weather. I saw some fishermen and I know they have paddle boats to rent. I also saw a handicap accessible fishing pavilion. At the campground I ended up with a pull through site . I love the set up of the campground. It is a winding, hilltop, one way road through the campground which adds to the privacy of the sites. There are double sites to pick from and a nice handicap site next to the showerhouse. At the far end there is a playground and one site right behind it. So be careful not to pick it if you don’t want to listen to the raucous noises of children. There are a couple of trails to pick from, two circle the lakes. One connects to the Pinhoute (don’t ask me to pronounce it)and there’s a trail to the Marble mine. The cabins don’t allow pets , they are nice structures with full amenities and decks. The pioneer structures would be cool for a group event. I did not hike to the primitive campsites. Rain, mud and mess aside we had a good time.

Site #15 on the hill is great.
It’s a small campground with very large camping sites and well placed through the area. All sites were really nice and most had separate area for an extra tent and trailer and eating area with fire pit and grill. Well maintained. We had woods directly across from us and no one around us. Bathroom facilities very clean, well kept with lots of light, heat and hot showers. Plenty of activities with hiking trails, 2 lakes for fishing, kayaking and paddle boats. Recommend the Marble Quarry hike. Falls were flowing great due to all the rain we had before. Trails around the lakes are nice and easy accessible. Loved the place and the people at the office were great and knowledgeable.

James H. (Sloppy) Floyd State Park
This park is near my home, so in addition to some regular camping this is the park where we have broken in two new campers. (Little Guy Silver Shadow Teardrop and a Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser). The park is well maintained, has two lakes and 25 camp sites.
