Nice Primitive camping area

I like the primitive camping area. The bathroom and water source is nearby, as well as a pavilion/shelter. There are three sections, with multiple areas for camping in each one. Each has 2-3 tables and a fire ring.

I hammock camp, and there are plenty of trees useful for this purpose. This is…

Perfect family vacation

Short-stay is a beautiful camp right on Lake Moultrie a short distance from Charleston, SC. They have descent wifi and an pretty well stocked camp store, but the main attraction is huge Lake Moultrie. Great for fishing, swimming, camping, RV, and much more. There is a swimming beach and the camp…

Horrible staff

The staff (manager Kim) thinks she owned the place. She makes up rules when she pleases. Doesn’t allow dog fences because she doesn’t want to deal with them if a storm comes. This is a military owned campground, but she runs it like it’s hers. I won’t stay there again because Kim is not a nice…

Amazing views and luscious greens

This campsite was magical! We were only able to stay two nights and I wish we could have stayed more. So much to see here! I also really appreciated the space between campsites. There are a lot of crawling creatures and I even showered with some, but didn’t mind :) I’m learning it’s part of…

Ok for limited stay

We chose this KOA over the one in Mt. Pleasant as we felt it was closer to what we needed. Tent sites are small and some distance from the restrooms. The restrooms are clean but could use some updating. Lots of traffic noise and planes. The biggest turn off was the seemingly run down trailer court…

Horrible location, tight unkept sites, noisy

Upon check-in all seemed to be going well...that is as I ignored driving thru the trailer park at the entrance to get into the campground...until I pulled up to my camp site. It was very narrow with and over grown tree on each side of the entrance to it. Luckily I keep a machete in my truck. I…

Great site!

We spent April 17-19 here. Beautiful spot on the intercostal waterway. Well maintained and lots of room between campsites. They have a couple of nature walks. Close to Charleston, SC.

Good in a pinch

We're locals and visited the KOA to check availability before recommending it to incoming traveling friends.  Due to Covid and no apparent individual working the office, we didn't bother with check-in rather made a quick pass through the closest loop to complete our assessment.  We almost …

Not for travelers wishing to visit the city

This KOA is located 30-45 minutes from the city, if you have to be closer to the north area for family or just cause Charleston has limited availability for RV’s , this is the place. We were purchasing a home and stayed here 5 weeks Overall every other campers was considerate and quiet. We had no…

Spacious, Wooded, Closest to Charleston

Large park with paved and grass sites. I stayed in a paved full hookup site P2 and, even though there were a fair amount of guests, they spread everyone out so I had no immediate neighbors. To control the spacing, they do not let you pick your own site. The facilities looked basic, and the office…

  • Finally, an RV park to offer recycling service!!
  • Site P2 is a pull-thru, paved site long enough for 30’ trailer but truck had to disconnect and park on grass.
  • Trash bins on the end of every row and every site has a picnic table and grass.

Great space and location to Charleston

Upon arriving it was a very nice experience. Chris in the office was so helpful and he answered all our questions about the area and gave great recommendations of restaurants.

The campground is very large and spacious and many sites have mature trees. Bathhouses are clean, although they are…

Great place with lots of options

I have stayed at here several times over the years. I’ve done primitive camping as well as staying in the cabins. I really enjoyed the multitude of options when it comes to outdoor activities. Kayaking, boating, paddle boarding, and fishing just to name a few. The facilities are well laid out and…

Decent, in a pinch

Camp in a very busy location outside of Charleston. Not very big, but cool if passing through.
