Staying a Kid Valley Playground

I recently stayed at Kid Valley Campground and had a fantastic time. It’s the perfect spot for anyone who loves nature and adventure. The campground is ideally located for exploring the Mt. St. Helens area, with great hiking and biking trails nearby.

As an avid fisherman, I was thrilled with the easy access to the Toutle River and nearby lakes. The salmon and steelhead fishing were excellent, and I also enjoyed a short drive to Coldwater Lake for some great fly-fishing and Silver Lake for bass and trout. Winter activities are also a big draw here. There’s hunting, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling in the nearby Toutle State Forest.

One of the highlights for me was how family-friendly the campground is. It’s a perfect spot for kids to explore and play games like Toca Boca around the campsite. They offer special rates during hunting season, which is a nice bonus for hunters. Overall, Kid Valley Campground is a wonderful blend of relaxation and outdoor adventure. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy the natural beauty near Mt. St. Helens.

Nice simple camp ground

Campground was simple, full hookup at the top of a hill above a small river. Our campsite had a little trail that went down to the river however was steep as hell and was a bit jarring for the kids.

Only issue we had was the trees made starlink almost useless. Even in the open field at the center we had issues and there is no cell service at all.

So if you're just camping it's excellent and cheap option,

but if you need to work it's a bit rough.

Unforgettable Family Adventure at Kid Valley Campground Near Mt. St. Helens

Kid Valley Campground is a fantastic destination for families looking for a serene and adventurous getaway. Set in a quiet forest and an old homestead, it offers a convenient base for sightseeing, hiking, and biking in the Mt. St. Helens area.

The proximity to fishing opportunities at nearby lakes and the famous Toutle River adds to its appeal. I recently sent my 6-year-old child to Kid Valley Campground, and it was an incredible experience for him. It was his first time going away, and I gave him my iPhone to stay connected.

He enjoyed playing Toca Boca World Mod, which kept him entertained during downtime. The weather was perfect, and he had a blast camping with his friends at night. The campground's location, adjacent to the Toutle River and a few miles from the Green River, provided excellent opportunities for salmon and steelhead fishing.

The nearby Coldwater Lake and Silver Lake offered great fly-fishing and bass and trout fishing, respectively. In winter, the campground's proximity to the Toutle State Forest, with its 35,000 acres open to snowmobiling, makes it an excellent spot for hunting,

cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. Year-round elk viewing on the road to Mount St. Helens is a treat, and the nearby Winston, Toutle, Coweeman, and Margaret units offer fantastic hunting opportunities. Overall, Kid Valley Campground is a wonderful place for family camping trips.

The combination of beautiful scenery, outdoor activities, and great weather made for an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore the Mt. St. Helens area.

Quiet place

This is a nice clean place. No phone service. But Ray is the campground Host and he is very knowledgeable with area and Friendly. You pay for showers .25 for 2 minutes . He’s sell’s Ice if you need it $3.00 . Filter water for showers. There’s a hiking trail to restaurant next door. That’s little high price. But nice. It’s real close to Mt Saint Helen. And not to far from Mount Rainer. Handicap shower . Games.

I like it!

Quaint little place, tucked away off the side of the road. Toutle river down below. There are RV and camp spots. You can pull in late and pay in the morning. Bonus as I often get there at midnight. Onsite bathroom; power; water at RV spots. Pets allowed. Grassy area for picnic-y stuff, play area. Horse shoes. They sell firewood...if you get there early enough. Fire rings and tables. There's parking pads and ample space to set up. It's not the greatest but we keep going back because it offers just what you need. You supply the rest. There's a restaurant next door that you can take a trail to...

Nicely crowded

If headed here definitely make a reservation, particularly, if you are there Thursday through Sunday. If not you’ll end up in the field. Price is $20 per a tent. A little steep for a field spot but no reservations. Bathrooms are nicely kept and hosts were nice and friendly. Showers are available.

Surprisingly Nice

Initially I was put off by the older RV’s when we first entered mainly because it looked like a mobile home area. As you move past them there are some very nice spots for camping. The price is right for what you’re getting and I would definitely stay here again.
