      Gunstock Campground

      Great Spot

Fairly extensive camp ground associated with Gunstock ski area on central New Hampshire. We arrived without a reservation a bit after the office closed, but Elena, the manager came out to let us in and allowed us to check in. She was great. Dogs must have proof of rabies vaccine. Very nice showers. Beautiful fall colors.

      Gunstock Mountain

I was lucky to receive a tranquil, secluded spot next to a brook - perfect. This campground has nothing to do, or plenty you can do - walking, hiking, biking, and close access to all Gunstock's adventures.

      Gunstock Campground

      Pretty Decent Little Camping Spot

Pros: Beautiful area, not a bad size campground, quiet nights (but this could be because 3 out of the 4 sites right near us were empty), free hot showers that are not dirty, lots of trails on edge of the grounds, lots and lots of tent sites, platform on campsite, pool and playground available, camp store, bike & Segway trails, quick access to some of NH’s most beautiful mountains. Staff is friendly. Cons: So many roots all over the sites, the platform did not fit our tent for 12 on it. More of the sites have very little separation from the neighboring campers near you. We explored the grounds & noted some sites that were a smidge more secluded and plan to return again sometime!

      Peaceful and great location

We enjoyed this campground! The staff upon arrival was so nice. It was so quiet at night! Got to walk to hike Gunstock. Wished there was a restaurant within walking distance. But not a show stopper. We will be back!

      Gunstock Campground

Cute campground, wooded sites are limited.

This campground overall is very nice. The camp store has most everything you could need, and the campground is gated so you have to make sure you keep your key card with you whenever leaving in order to get back in. Most of the sites are out in the open though, or very close together. Not so bad if you're camping in trailers or RVs, but if tent camping you won't really have any privacy in those locations. I recommend the sites back in Breezy Knolls (K01-K17 I think?) and then I believe sites 203 and 205 were nice and tucked away in the trees as well. There is a zip line course and a metal "slide" or coaster behind the Breezy Knolls area which can get kind of noisy between the sounds of the gear and the kids screaming. Lol. But it didn't really bother me personally. The wooded area back there is beautiful though so the sites definitely made up for it. Campground has a fenced in dog park, playground, showers, clean bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Would definitely camp here again. I just prefer the wooded/shaded tent sites...which are limited at this place.

      Gunstock Campground

      4.7 stars

Fun place! The mountain coaster and chairlift were great for the little ones and the ziplines are epic! They give discounts to campers. We stayed in 255, which was really nice, wooded, and right by the creek. Site 254 next door us easily the best trailer site in the entire place. It is huge and has two levels and tons of creek frontage. These two sites are nestled in a quiet tent area. The grid RV area was not very impressive, but all of the tent sites in the woods were really cool. The open field rv area was really exposed but close to amenities. Our family stayed in the cabins and they are nicely situated for privacy. Rustic and no AC or bathrooms but clean and nice little porch. The pool was nice, two excellent playgrounds, and everything well kept. You get your own keycard for the gate. Epic views from top of mountain!

This is an awesome campground! Lots to do with a nice pool and lots of land to walk the dogs. Seasonal camping is better here.

Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park

Pleasant staff, but campsite was unimpressive

The staff were friendly and helpful. We spent one night and did not visit any of the facilities, but all looked clean and well staffed.

Unfortunately, I can’t give high marks to our campsite. The water and electric were between our site and the next on one side and sewer between our site and the one on the other side. This made it difficult to place our trailer on the slanted site and reach all services. The site had very long grass, bare rock and mud. It was not a site we would have wanted to stay on any longer than the one night.

    Guide to West Nottingham

Equestrian camping near West Nottingham, New Hampshire is limited, with camping options primarily located within 30-40 miles of the town center. West Nottingham sits at approximately 700 feet elevation in southeastern New Hampshire, with terrain characterized by rolling hills, mixed forests, and nearby water bodies. The region experiences distinct seasonal variations with snow coverage from December through March limiting certain camping facilities to warm-weather operation.

    What to do

Hiking trails access: Gunstock Campground provides direct access to hiking trails and mountain terrain. "I went in 2018 and this year I am being my sister and nieces. Love the Segway tour and the adventure zip lining and the coaster it's a fun place and I can't wait to return," notes camper Brad F. about Gunstock Campground.

Fishing opportunities: Tippicanoe Campground offers a stocked fishing pond for campers. According to David G., "Rand Pond is the body of water at the campground and is restricted to under 10 HP boats. It is stocked with rainbow trout by the State of NH and is a spring fed sandy bottom pond." Tippicanoe Campground maintains this fishing area for guests throughout the camping season.

Golf access: Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park combines camping with golf recreation on their 1300-acre property. "Nice RV campground with alot of seasonal residents. Plenty of tent sites. On site general store with grill. Fishing and swimming on property along with a club house," reports Shawn C.

    What campers like

Spacious sites: Gunstock offers roomier camping spots compared to other nearby options. Sara D. explains, "We explored the grounds & noted some sites that were a smidge more secluded and plan to return again sometime!" Some campers specifically seek out the Breezy Knolls section (sites K01-K17) for better spacing.

Clean facilities: Ramblewood Cabins and Campground receives positive feedback for maintenance standards. "We have stayed here a few times and really enjoyed sites and hospitality!" reports Anne G. about their multiple visits to the property.

Quiet environment: Many campgrounds in the area maintain peaceful settings despite their recreational offerings. Ryan F. shares his experience: "Very well kept and quiet grounds. The lot I was in was not wooded but still quiet. Check in was quick and friendly. All other guests were friendly as well. I'll be back for sure."

    What you should know

Site conditions vary: Some campgrounds have terrain challenges worth noting. At Hidden Valley, one camper notes: "The site had very long grass, bare rock and mud. It was not a site we would have wanted to stay on any longer than the one night." Site selection matters significantly at all properties in the area.

Limited wooded options: Finding shaded tent sites can be challenging. "This campground overall is very nice... Most of the sites are out in the open though, or very close together. Not so bad if you're camping in trailers or RVs, but if tent camping you won't really have any privacy in those locations," explains Melissa B. about Gunstock Campground.

Seasonal population: Many campgrounds host long-term seasonal residents from May through October. "A lot of the campers are seasonal which is May - October each year. I did not see any tents there, only hard-sided units," reports Christy C. This creates a different camping atmosphere than transient-focused properties.

    Tips for camping with families

Amenity access: Hidden Valley RV and Golf Park provides multiple family-friendly options. "The amenities are state of the art, clean laundry center, restrooms, bath house, grocery store, bar & grill, playground & 2 swimming beaches," according to Christy C., making it suitable for longer family stays.

Recreation variety: Gunstock offers diverse activities beyond basic camping. Kasey H. notes, "It has pretty spacious sites, they have an aerial obstacle course and a mountain coaster, places to swim, music festivals, hiking, etc." This concentration of activities minimizes travel time between recreational options.

Internet availability: Families needing connectivity should note that wifi access varies by location. One camper mentioned that "The kids were given a lot of grace and hung out in the grill/game room area for hours on end to use the wi-fi," suggesting that some campgrounds offer limited wifi in common areas rather than site-wide coverage.

    Tips from RVers

Hookup placement: At certain campgrounds, utility placement can create challenges. One RVer at Hidden Valley reported, "The water and electric were between our site and the next on one side and sewer between our site and the one on the other side. This made it difficult to place our trailer on the slanted site and reach all services."

Dog-friendly options: Several campgrounds accommodate pets with designated areas. "Campground has a fenced in dog park, playground, showers, clean bathrooms, and laundry facilities," notes Melissa B. about Gunstock's amenities for pet owners.

Horse trailer considerations: While no dedicated equestrian camping facilities exist in the immediate West Nottingham area, horse owners should contact campgrounds directly about trailer parking. Some sites at larger campgrounds may accommodate horse trailers, though specific equine amenities like corrals are not available at reviewed locations.
