Myers Bridge

This Bureau of Land Management campground provides boondocking opportunities along the Yellowstone River with basic amenities including pit toilets and scattered fire pits. The area shows evidence of past flooding with rocks distributed throughout the camping zones, and the single toilet facility sits at a considerable distance from most camping spots. A 1.5-mile trail loops around the adjacent island, while boat launch activity creates intermittent traffic during daylight hours.

Train whistles from nearby railroad tracks punctuate the riverside setting regularly throughout the day and night. Campers can explore BLM Howrey Island Recreation Area just south of this location. Cell service availability varies, and the nearby town of Hysham has experienced water supply issues that may affect services for visiting campers.

Secluded, near the Yellowstone

We stayed October 7&8 2023 and it's a good place to boondock.  No services. A couple of fire pits.  The pit toilet is far from the camping, so don't rely on it.  This area was flooded a few years ago so rocks are everywhere.  A nice 1 1/2 mile trail runs around the island.  People take boats in and out at differing hours so there is some traffic, but is fairly quiet except for the train whistles which I enjoy but some may not.  Tried to get coffee in town at the gas station, but the town's water supply is not working and no one knows when it will be repaired.  Not sure if this is due to the flood a couple of years ago? We plan to return soon.
