Quiet and pristine!

I was surprised how nice this was since it's just about 5 minutes from the highway. You feel miles away - absolutely no noise. It's super clean and pretty. Very clean pit toilets and nice private spaces with plenty of room.  We didn't stay long, but it was nice to be in the forest in the middle of a long drive across Montana.

Loved it

Short distance off interstate 90. Half reservable and half 1st come fort serve, pretty easy to get a spot. Nice spots, good privacy. Had an interpreter trail just short of a mile. Free wood each night. Friendly camp-host. Just a great little gem.

Quiet and peaceful

We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this campground was. We chose it because of its proximity to the highway on our road trip through the area, but it was quiet and peaceful. There were hardly any campers when we passed through (mid week at the end of June). Our kids loved the nature walk/hike at the entrance to the campground. The vault toilet was clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to stop here again, though it probably won’t be a destination stop.

Great spot with privacy

Great spacing on the campsites. Loved it here. Every other spot is reservable. We had fun watching the chipmunks. The bear boxes were a bit of a walk though.

Quiet with easy access

We were happy to find this campground on our way to Yellowstone.  It was easy to access off of I-90.   Quiet, clean and roomy sites.  Would stay again!

Peaceful, great campground!

This was the last stop on our 2 week summer road trip.  We wanted something quiet in the trees, and this was perfect!  There are some really great, secluded sites. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained.

AWESOME campground

No site reservations allowed and only first come first serve, so it was a bit of a risk for my family and I driving across the country. Only stayed one night but it was the best night of camping for the whole trip. The fall pines were beautiful and sites were totally secluded. Barely would know anyone else was there in the campground. Only heads up... hosts don’t like dogs even though they are allowed. She kind of freaked out as my part husky part wolf dog who is super friendly came near her. They were kind of sticklers with getting her on a leash which is understandable. If I am EVER in the area again, we will be stopping. Wish we had more than one night.

Loved it

One of very few sites in the area that is not an RV Park (RVs are still welcome). Nice size spots, not on top of each other. The camp hosts are wonderful people! Bathrooms are clean and well maintained, water is available. Very pretty spot, the only thing that would make it better is access to water. This site is great for access to the Hiawatha Trail.

Perfect Home Base for Exploring

This is a first come, first serve campground with pit toilets and the standard set up. We found it to be perfect for tenting and set up mid week, having the campground almost to ourselves. We were told the weekend could get busy but while we were there maybe 5 people were in the entire campground. The area had a recent burn but plenty of big trees still existed to camp under. Not far off of 90, this is a great spot. The camp hosts were friendly and knowledgeable and ready to help. The plus, it was $7 a night! We were told it would go to $15 next year but this is still a bargain.

Cabin City Campground

Nice, densely forested campground with lots of sites long enough for our 31ft travel trailer and crew cab pick up. Clean campground with vault toilets. My only disappointment was there’s not a water feature through the campground. You cross over a small creek on the way to the campground from I-90.

Serene and in the woods

Perfect location, as it is away from the highway, in a wooded setting. Sites are further apart, clean and plenty of space.

Beautiful creek and nature walk, with a self-guided tour, telling about the history of the area (logging and mining).

Perfect Stop Over Site

We didn't have time to stay and explore but this campsite was perfect for our 1 night stop over. The sites were clean and had lots of space between them. We didn't experience any biting bugs or wildlife visitors either. We will definitely stop (and stay) here again.
