Agricenter International RV Park and Cook's Lake RV Resort and Campground near Olive Branch, Mississippi offer limited camping options for equestrians. Neither facility specifically lists horse corrals or dedicated equestrian amenities in their feature sets. The campgrounds provide full hookup sites for RVs with access to basic amenities including water, electric, and sewer connections. Most sites at Agricenter International are arranged in buddy-style configurations where doors face neighboring units, creating minimal privacy between campers. The facilities primarily serve as convenient bases for exploring nearby attractions rather than destination camping experiences for horse enthusiasts.

Located approximately 15-20 minutes from downtown Memphis, these campgrounds provide access to the greater metropolitan area while maintaining proximity to rural areas where trail riding might be possible. Agricenter International RV Park sits adjacent to a farmer's market in one of the safer areas of Memphis, while Cook's Lake primarily serves long-term workers rather than recreational campers. Neither facility specifically advertises bridle trails or horse-friendly policies. Equestrians planning to visit the Olive Branch area would need to contact the campgrounds directly to inquire about horse accommodation possibilities, trailer parking restrictions, and any potential nearby riding opportunities, as standard equestrian facilities appear absent from both properties.

      Kellys Crossing Campground

      Not really a campground

This is more of a boat ramp than a campground. There are a couple of picnic tables with an few areas to set up tents. The positive is that you won’t be fighting a lot of other campers to be able to stay here. The access to the lake is nice. Would be a good spot to go if you needed to get away for some solitude.

      Kellys Crossing Campground

      Quiet Primitive Campground

This is an off the beaten path area for standard recreation. It’s technically a boat ramp that accesses Arkabutla Lake with picnic and camping areas nearby. The bulletin board has primitive camping rules and guidelines to follow. The fee has been reduced to free, so enjoy but be respectful! I am visiting at the end of December, so there are hardly any other persons around besides the fishermen out on the water. Private property is close by and you have to travel past them to get to the public day use area so also be aware of that.

Cook's Lake RV Resort and Campground

Work Campground (very few recreational campers)

We stayed here for ~2.5 months.  Will detail good/bad comments below:

      Good

      1. Owner.  Wes.  He is awesome.

      2. Safety. This is next to police academy, and has several students living in it - never felt danger here.

      3. Away from it all.  But still close to Memphis.  About 15 minutes to downtown, but within cell service.

      Bad

      1. Workers mainly.  Ton of construction, trade, and 0500-1700 workers.  This was great from a sleeping standpoint (no one was ever loud) but kids didn't have a scene so to speak.

      2. Exposed.  In the sun, rain, wind, etc.  It was an old mobile-home park, so very exposed to elements.

      Agricenter International RV Park

Close to a lot of attractions but mostly buddy sites

This is the kind of RV park that you come to to go look at the close attractions. Almost all of the sites are buddy sites where your front door is facing your neighbor's. There is no privacy at all and we actually ran into a problem with our "buddy neighbor". The problem was taken care of by the manager of the park but those are things to keep in mind. They are full hookup sites and offer up to 3 months of stay. We gave it only 3 stars because this is not the kind of park we are used to, we are used to more open sites.

The bathrooms are quite a walk if you are further into the park. There are 2 restrooms with a shower in each. One bathroom was really clean and had a nicely tiled shower. The other bathroom was always dirty and wasn't updated like the other one. The bathrooms are actually located in the farmer's market building which isn't in the RV park itself.

Local attractions: The Farmer's Market (it's an easy walk from the park), Graceland (was about 30-40 min from the park), The Miami Zoo (was about 20 min from the park). I am sure there are a lot more but we weren't able to get to them in the time that we stayed.

      Agricenter International RV Park

      Safe place to stay

It is definitely not the nicest Park we have been to- laundry facilities are run down, two of the dryers will tear up your clothes, and the bathrooms are never clean. They are working on adding gravel to the spaces, right now though when it rains you are in a swamp. The spaces are also very close together. All that being said, not a terrible monthly price, the trash cans are shared and the wifi is slow in the evening, but you're not paying extra for that or water or power. It is quiet, everyone keeps to themselves, they say it is 3 month maximum but I do know of some who are staying longer. It is in the nicer part of Memphis, so if you are looking for a safe place to stay here, this is it. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the country, it is not.

      Agricenter International RV Park

      Parking Lot

This is basically a parking lot for RV’s, not a campground. Campers are stacked on top of each other. I would only recommend this place if you are working an event at the Agricenter or if you are passing through town and desperate for a place to stay.

    Guide to Olive Branch

Campgrounds near Olive Branch, Mississippi primarily serve visitors looking for convenient access to Memphis attractions rather than dedicated outdoor recreation. The area sits at approximately 400 feet above sea level in the gently rolling terrain of northern Mississippi, characterized by warm, humid summers and mild winters. Most camping options focus on providing practical accommodations rather than scenic natural settings.

    What to do

Day trips to Memphis: Agricenter International RV Park provides a practical base for exploring Memphis attractions, located about 15-20 minutes from downtown. "Full hookups and convenient location. We have stayed there several times," notes camper Brent M. The campground's proximity to city attractions makes it useful for travelers prioritizing urban exploration over natural settings.

Farmers market visits: Access to local produce and goods is available directly adjacent to Agricenter International RV Park. One visitor mentions, "The Farmer's Market (it's an easy walk from the park), Graceland (was about 30-40 min from the park), The Miami Zoo (was about 20 min from the park)." This provides campers with fresh local food options without extensive travel.

    What campers like

Secure location: Safety ranks as a priority for many visitors to the Memphis area. A camper at Cook's Lake RV Resort and Campground notes, "Safety. This is next to police academy, and has several students living in it - never felt danger here." This factor weighs heavily for travelers concerned about security when camping near urban areas.

Quiet environment: Despite proximity to Memphis, some campgrounds maintain relatively quiet atmospheres. At Cook's Lake, one reviewer observed, "Workers mainly. Ton of construction, trade, and 0500-1700 workers. This was great from a sleeping standpoint (no one was ever loud)." The predominantly worker-oriented population creates predictable noise patterns beneficial for light sleepers.

Extended stay options: Longer-term accommodation is available for those needing a base for multiple weeks. Regarding Agricenter International, a camper states, "It is definitely not the nicest Park we have been to... not a terrible monthly price, the trash cans are shared and the wifi is slow in the evening, but you're not paying extra for that or water or power."

    What you should know

Limited horse facilities: Equestrian camping near Olive Branch, Mississippi is extremely limited. Neither of the primary campgrounds advertises horse corrals or specific equestrian amenities in their facilities. Horse owners seeking accommodations should contact campgrounds directly to inquire about trailer parking and potential arrangements before arrival.

Weather impacts: Seasonal conditions affect campground usability. At Agricenter International RV Park, a visitor noted, "They are working on adding gravel to the spaces, right now though when it rains you are in a swamp." Drainage issues during wet weather can significantly impact camping comfort.

Bare-bones amenities: Facilities tend toward functional rather than luxurious. One camper described their experience: "This is basically a parking lot for RV's, not a campground. Campers are stacked on top of each other. I would only recommend this place if you are working an event at the Agricenter or if you are passing through town and desperate for a place to stay."

    Tips for camping with families

Limited recreation options: Families should plan off-site activities when staying near Olive Branch. A reviewer at Cook's Lake observed, "kids didn't have a scene so to speak," indicating minimal on-site entertainment for children. Parents should research nearby attractions to keep young campers engaged.

Bathroom accessibility: Consider site location relative to facilities when traveling with children. One camper at Agricenter International RV Park pointed out, "The bathrooms are quite a walk if you are further into the park. There are 2 restrooms with a shower in each." This distance might present challenges for families with younger children.

Inconsistent cleanliness: Facility maintenance varies significantly. According to one review, "One bathroom was really clean and had a nicely tiled shower. The other bathroom was always dirty and wasn't updated like the other one." Families might want to bring cleaning supplies or prepare children for varying conditions.

    Tips from RVers

Site arrangement challenges: The layout at certain campgrounds creates privacy concerns. A reviewer noted, "Almost all of the sites are buddy sites where your front door is facing your neighbor's. There is no privacy at all and we actually ran into a problem with our 'buddy neighbor'."

Late arrival accommodation: Some travelers appreciate flexible check-in options. One RVer at Agricenter International RV Park shared a brief but positive experience: "Got us in late held our spot," suggesting the facility can work with guests arriving outside standard hours when arranged in advance.

Weather protection: RVers should prepare for exposure to elements. At Cook's Lake, a camper warned, "Exposed. In the sun, rain, wind, etc. It was an old mobile-home park, so very exposed to elements." Extra stabilization for awnings and adequate climate control systems are advisable due to limited natural windbreaks or shade.
