The Pat Harrison Waterway District operates this multi-section campground along Flint Creek Reservoir, where forested sites spread across three distinct camping areas connected by paved roads. Located just over a mile from Wiggins, the facility combines a traditional campground with an adjacent waterpark that draws lake water through its slides and lazy river system.
Campers choose between full-hookup RV sites on paved pads and primitive tent areas, with the Mohawk section offering first-come, first-served sites that reviewers consistently favor for their lake access. Johnnie S. found site 141 "in a very wooded area at the far end of all three RV areas" with "a beautiful view of the water where you could fish." The campground accommodates multiple access methods, including boat-in options for those arriving by water.
Fishing draws many visitors to the reservoir, with boat launches available both in the main park and within the campground itself. The waterpark operates seasonally, pumping lake water through its attractions rather than using treated pool water. Hiking trails wind through the area, and geocaching opportunities exist nearby. Swimming areas serve both day-use visitors and overnight campers, though the quality varies by section.
Site conditions reflect the campground's mixed maintenance priorities. Several reviewers note uneven ground requiring leveling blocks for RVs, and low-mounted water spigots create access challenges. The bathhouses receive regular cleaning but lack air conditioning during summer months. Gordon F. appreciated that "all the hookups worked great" during his December stay, when crowds thin considerably from peak summer levels.
For those wanting a more developed experience, Flint Creek Waterpark offers additional amenities in a separate section of this same complex.
