Bayside Campground sits within Assateague Island National Seashore on the Virginia side, managed by the National Park Service and open year-round. The bayside loops are notably more spacious than the oceanside sites, and tend to draw fewer crowds. Wild horses roam the island freely and have been known to walk directly through campsites. Pets are welcome, and campers looking at pet-friendly camping near Assateague Island National Seashore will find this one of the more accessible options in the area. Sites accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, and the campground has toilets, picnic tables, a camp store, and cell service. Toms Cove Campgrounds Cove Campground is a nearby alternative for campers who want a different setup.
