Pit toilet, running water, RV hookups. The Camp Host Walt is super nice, ask him about his musician days and he might even let you borrow an old CD of his! Festus the cat was very welcoming too.

We love the horse park. First location is wonderful. Literally on the grounds of the gorgeous Kentucky Horse Park and less than 30 minutes to UK’s Campus.

The sites are spacious and fairly flat. Big bonus for state parks. There are lots of mature trees which are great for every season of camping.

All sites are back in only and there are no full hook ups. This wasn’t an issue as there are 2 dump stations with 2 pipes each.

We recommend this to anyone!

We were very happy with this campground. It seemed a bit pricey for full hook-up but was very nice. The campground was very clean and well maintained. The entrance to the campground is surprisingly steep.

We actually camped at Boat Gunnel which is a part of Twin Knobs Campground. We love this campground because it is a private area with 4 RV hookups and approximately 10 tent sites. You rent the entire place for $125 or $130 a night. It is close to the water. We left our boats down on the bank. You have a "private" restroom and shower house. Occasionally you will get a hiker or someone coming through the trails that will use it. The only reason that it didn't score perfect is that the showers need some attention. There was mud along side the blacktop path that led down to the fire pit that was full of mosquito larvae and smelled. Easy fix, but had to keep the kids and dogs away from it constantly. My sister took a nasty fall on the trail down to the waters edge and that would be an easy fix to make that trail a little smoother. I know we are camping, but with the price, it is actually glamping. We like this place because it is easy for my aging parents to come down and visit. Great, large shelter also.

This is one of our favorite places. Huge sites, not full hook up but easy to dump on the way out. Large trees, good shade. Stay on the outer ring and you can watch the horses throughout the day. Very easy to get to and Lexington is just minutes away.

Only negative is no pull throughs and if other campers have extra cars on their sites it can be a bit tight to get parked.

I’ve been camping here for 25 years, since I was 2 years old, so you can understand that this campground has a special place in my heart. We’ve camped the double sites, single sites, non-electric, you name it. There is only two sites with a full hook up, and the rest are either electric or non-electric, no water at either of them. We fill our fresh water tank when we come in at a water spigot, or we get a spot that has a close water spigot and use a really long water hose as needed. Bathhouses and restrooms as always clean, and hosts are friendly and informative. I have a family of two young boys and two furbabies, and we’ve never camped near a ‘party site’, though I’m sure if you acted like you had some sense, played music low, and threw back a few beers, no one would mind. Never had to complain on anyone. I highly recommend this campground, and would suggest it to anyone that loves to camp.

RV park in the front, more primitive tent camping in the back. There is a pond/lake just big enough to fish and swim in, and there’s a rope swing the kids loved. This place has pretty good food made on site and had karaoke on Saturday nite with a good crowd. The spots were good, if not a bit close together. We didn’t have a picnic table but we brought a table so it wasn’t a big deal for us. Also I think they would get you one if you didn’t have one. Staff was great. Fire pit was Flinstone style: just a ring of rocks. But it got the job done. Very close to Slade and Stanton.

We stayed in site 6 on May 18, 2019. It was a gravel, back in site and backed up to the lake. It was fairly sloped towards the lake. We had a pop up with a 16 foot box but if you had a larger camper you might need blocs for your back stabilizers. The water pressure was quite high (70 psi) according to the worker at the campground so make sure to have a water pressure regulator. The pool looked great, but it closes really early at 8 o’clock which seems too early for the summer when it’s hot and light way past that. We didn’t get a chance to get in the pool as we get back to the campground about 8:15 and had to leave early the next day. The showers were great and clean. There were 9 of them, each in its own lockable room with a sink and toilet. There was also a laundry in the shower building. Three washers and dryers. We paid $40 for a one night stay with full hook ups and had no discounts applied. I would have given it a 5 but only gave it a 4 because of the early pool closing.

We usually visit this park year round. In the summer, the pool is the best in the area. The beach makes great fishing, and there's a nice playground for the little ones. The fort itself is a great learning experience for kids and adults!

RV park had plenty of room, and is well taken care of as well.

national forest campground with some full hookups, some water/electric and standard sites-double sites available as well. Easy access off Rt 64. Beach and boat launch are short drive.

Lovely water pressure, clean bathrooms, lots of showers. Level site. Quiet park with easy hookups and lots of space for dogs.

We had a premium pull through, and it was worth it! We would stay again.

We would stay here again especially for the price. The RV Park standard spots are basic with a table, 15ft between you and your neighbor, and a fire pit. Very crowded on the weekends but about 70% full during the week. They have good AT&T and TMobile signal.

Staff is very nice and helpful. They do collect packages in the office, answer phones, communicate well.

Leveling of the spots is decent, there are clearly some spots where RVers struggle and hang wheels off the ground.

The property has a fishing pond, swimming pool, dog waste station, inflatable playground, blob, community area, basketball, shower houses, restrooms, and laundry.

The standard lots are gravel and basic, the premium spots are much longer with smaller yards and have pull through access.

The biggest downside we saw with this park is that there aren’t very many standard sites available to big RVs. We have to park our truck sideways and not on the grass - this is an issue because as we witnessed the second day an incoming rig hit one of the trucks parked in the street. They have a few spaces but these are occupied by people with tiny vehicles that think they need to park their tiny vehicle in the middle of the space for a dually.

There are a lot of people staying here longer term for work and such. Many have more than one vehicle which takes up the parking for others.

The grass not being touched is a hot topic here. We were told the soil is clay so once it dies they have difficulty getting it to grow again- so no mats and no parking in the grass.

Super staff and lots to do for kids. Sites are small but some full hookups.

Nice place and hospitality 👍 as soon as we drove up. Escort to our site #55 with Full Hookups. Close sites but very well organized, clean private baths/bathrooms, laundry and pool. Fishing is catch and release and they are bitting.
