    Wakeeney KOA

    Great Overnight Spot

I have stayed at this KOA twice on my way home from Rocky Mountain National Park. The park is right off I-70, the sites are all pull through and level so you don’t have to unhook - just pull in and relax. The staff is very friendly, the dog park is big and clean, and you can get a homemade grab-and-go breakfast on your way out the next morning.

    Ellis Lakeside Campground

    Lovely Relaxing Treasure

This beautiful park is so relaxing, and stress relieving after traveling on a busy interstate. The amenities they provide are: electric and water, picnic tables, comfort station, wifi, trash and pet waste stations and a dump station. There is also a fishing deck and benches near the water, beautiful trees and well lite at night.

    Ellis Lakeside Campground

    Quaint City Park

This little RV park is a perfect no frills stop while driving through Kansas with easy access off I70. There are some sites on the small lake adjacent to the property that are surrounded by beautiful trees. We were able to grab one of these in November during the week. There are spots across the street as well, but that is more of a parking lot looking situation. Water and Electric hookups are available. However, we read they shut the water off in December so be sure to fill up your tank when that of year. We were able to ride our bikes into the little town to grab a tasty breakfast at a diner before we packed up. I would recommend this campground for a restful over night stay. *We travel in a 37 foot 5th wheel for reference

Page Creek Area — Cedar Bluff State Park

    Private Tent Sites

First time in Kansas, had a quick one night stop during our road trip. This was a gorgeous lake tucked not far from the highway. The tent only sites were totally empty and we were the only ones in the loop. Gorgeous view, just up the bank from a small beach. Self check in was easy and the bathrooms were clean. Only complaint is that it got very buggy at night, but that's what you get for a spot so close to the water. I'd definitely come back again!

Great for an overnight to Denver

We stayed here as it was right in the middle between Kansas City and Denver where we were headed. Looks like everyone that stayed the night had the same thought. When we arrived in the evening, the campsite was full and every space was taken. When we woke up the in the morning, the campsite was empty as all the RVs had cleared out to be on their way. It was a comfortable stay right on the highway to Denver so easy access to be on our way out.

    High Plains Camping

    Easy access, kind, and clean.

I stopped for just one night on my way to Colorado in a baby 13 foot travel trailer and they were kind enough to put me back in the corner so I could watch the beautiful Kansas Sunset, and away from the big rigs. Big clean, hot and free showers with good water pressure.

    Broken Arrow campground KS

One of the best kept secrets in Kansas

Cedar Bluff State Park (Bluffton Area) is about 40 minutes off I-70, with just a short dirt road leading you to a peaceful lakeside campsite. I stayed at site 360, which had an incredible sunrise view. Bathrooms and showers are located up the hill, with parking available so you don’t have to walk. Campsites are reserved through a self-service system: either use the electric kiosk (credit cards accepted) or drop cash in the receptacle. The park is also in close proximity to Castle Rock, Monument Rocks, and Little Jerusalem.

Kansas Country Inn & RV Park

Great overnight spot. Priced right for the location

Great people and very friendly town. Campsite is very bland and bare. Wind blows constantly but nice area for dogs to run and right next to motel with all the extra amenities.

Guide to Morland

Camping options near Morland, Kansas include both established campgrounds and less developed sites across the region's rolling prairie landscape. Situated in the Solomon Valley at 2,260 feet elevation, the area experiences hot summers with temperatures often exceeding 90°F and cold winters. Most campgrounds in the region provide direct lake access, with prime fishing spots for catfish, crappie, and bluegill.

What to do

Lake fishing opportunities: Sheridan State Fishing Lake offers multiple fishing spots with various species. "I got to see 2 great blue herons and listen to 2 great horned owls call to each other at night - how awesome!" notes camper Kaeti R.

Boating activities: Cedar Bluff State Park provides water recreation with boat ramps and lake access, though water levels fluctuate seasonally. "Awesome Lakeview dispersed campsites. Some are near the sandy beach. Unfortunately the lake water has receded dramatically," reports David M.

I've visited here during every season... always beautiful and teaming with wildlife," shares Seldom Seen R.

What you should know

Weather considerations: The open prairie provides little protection from elements. At Sheridan State Fishing Lake, one camper notes: "The bugs here weren't bad at all.
