COE Wilson Lake Sylvan Park

The spillway location at Wilson Lake sets this Army Corps of Engineers campground apart from typical waterfront spots. Campers find themselves positioned below the dam rather than lakeside, which eliminates boat traffic noise but also means no direct water views from the 25 pull-through sites.

Each site comes equipped with electric and water hookups plus concrete picnic tables and fire rings, accommodating RVs up to 137 feet. The campground maintains heated restrooms with flush toilets and showers, though seasonal availability can vary. A playground provides entertainment for families, while the dump station handles waste disposal needs. Shannon G. notes the campground "has 25 sites that each have electric and water and are pull thru."

The location proves convenient for Interstate 70 travelers, sitting just nine miles off exit 206. Senior passes receive acceptance here, and primitive camping options exist for those preferring sites without hookups. Cell service reaches the area reliably. For additional camping choices, consider campgrounds around Sylvan Grove or nearby Lucas Park.

Reservations help secure spots during peak travel seasons, especially given the campground's highway accessibility and year-round operation.

A nice pleasant place.

A nice quiet place. No highway noise. No boat noise, as the lake is on the other side of the dam from the campground. The sites are roomy and have concrete picnic tables. There are flush toilets, sinks, and showers.

Beautiful camp Level pull throughs

We stayed at this COE campground on a very stormy night in June 2024. It is a well kept Corp campground and we will stay there again as we travel through Kansas.

Views of the sky and lake

This campground deserves 5 stars because the views are breathtaking. Electrical hook-up for RVs. Water. Dump station. Tent camps available. Our own experience is more like a 3 because while the campground was open, the bathrooms were not. Water was not available either. If this happens to you, jump in your vehicle, make a right from the park and there is a boat launch area about 5 mins from the campground with a nice composting toilet. But the skyline was worth it.

Great location in Kansas, 9 miles off I70, at exit 206. US Army Corps of Engineers campground, with water, electric and a dump station available.

Restrooms are heated and showers are available as well.

Senior Passes are accepted. If you choose not to use the electric sites, there are primitive sites, which are free. Nice clean place to find an oasis (Wilson Lake) on a highway desert!
